We're just back from an enjoyable mini-conference organised by @Leeds_LEAF. Talks included everything from changes in tree growth rates in the tropics, to our work at Hardknott! Practical work at Gair Wood the university's new woodland site the following day.

Our vol day this weekend was at the new plant nursery. We got all the juniper seedlings up off the ground for the winter & dug some new beds for sowing wildflowers for seed. A small number of tea-leaved willow also went as a future source for cuttings. @MontaneWoodland @UBoCarbon

Not only are Northern Monk @NMBCo helping us as one of the causes they support, they also visited (all the way from Leeds!) to help out on site yesterday. We had a great day planting wildflowers and removing spruce from regenerating woodland.

Northern Monk (@NMBCo) announces long-term support for the @HardknottForest project through its Faith in Futures Foundation.
The support will help to "restore more native woodland and provide more opportunities," says project officer John Hodgson.
