A very good example of historical specificity in contrast to those who see no difference between slavery, Industrialisation and imperialism: spiked-online.com/2024/01/03…

It's time to stop raging at the past, stop the guilt tripping, and look towards the future and the problems facing people today, not those of centuries ago - Well-said @NigelBiggar thetimes.com/comment/columni…

Well said Alka. The NHS is rife with activism. This is not the only Trust wasting precious resources on divisive schemes such as this.
Oh dear! The NHS spokesperson seems to think activism is professional development - perhaps he needs some education himself on the difference. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

Burnham should go to Antigua with an offer: there are fifty million people in slavery today, four times the number the Atlantic trade carried in over many centuries, and a third of them are held in four Commonwealth countries: India, Pakistan, Nigeria and Bangladesh, all of which voted in March to call the Atlantic trade the gravest crime in history.
A Commonwealth organised around the slavery that exists in the here and now would be worth more to its members than one organised around the slavery that Britain ended.
A confident nation declines to accept liability for a trade it spent sixty years and thousands of lives suppressing, and the government should say as much when the atonement complex comes knocking. Get off your knees.

The article everyone is talking about and agreeing with, including Kemi Badenoch.
Fantastic piece from Lord Sewell which says what many from former colonies or remains Commonwealth countries think. Does King Charles need a new/additional scripwriter?! thetimes.com/comment/columni…

For people who are saying that Jason Arday has been cleared of plagiarism, I’d suggest two things:
1. Ask who has done that ‘clearing’, and how disinterested are they likely to be?
2. Have a look at Dave Harris’s files here, and see if you are then confident there is no plagiarism.

Completely pathetic. He throws about insinuations of racism from the pulpit of a church, gets challenged, comes up with a weasel response, then blocks. This says a lot about Alan Lester's character as a historian.

The vile comments on this post offer a snapshot of what Jewish people face daily. I’m not Jewish, but I’ve had a torrent of abuse since calling out antisemitism in schools. It’s not acceptable and these people are gross.

Replying to @aljhlester @BijanOmrani
Why decline Alan? In a lecture in a church you make insinuations about people in the public realm. Don't you have the courage to say who they are?

A question for @aljhlester: in this talk you said that "one or two" of the opponents of Project Spire "we could perhaps envision as as [sic] Long’s intellectual heirs" (Edward Long you called the "founding father of English racism") - who exactly are these "one or two" opponents? Please name exactly whom you mean.

Councils are paying for the services of companies like this to deliver one-off sessions or assemblies and courses for teachers and pupils. Why? Listening to others, being polite to everyone, or self-reflection have nothing to do with a radical political ideology that basically preaches that society (including the schools and councils that fund its activists) are systemically racist. Does anyone in the Department of Education have oversight of this development in schools, or know what public mandate they have? To many of us, this looks like indoctrination, not education. @LucyMPowell @LauraTrottMP @SuellaBraverman @ScotUnionEd @ProtectTeach
Time to call 'time's up' on this toxic ideology. But we also need to address the prior political and cultural weaknesses that provided such fertile ground for its influence: spectator.com/article/we-nee…
