🚨 SYC Episode 12: @rtomashoff34 and I are back. I give a rundown of the Nebraska trip. We discuss how fun winning is and my near death experience (not classy fans at Nebraska). We go off on so many tangents. @Jyolteon hates us. Chris Lawson, forever.

"Thomas Jefferson taught that a democracy was impractical unless the people were educated. No matter how stringent the protections of the people might be in constitutions or common law, there would always be a temptation, Jefferson thought, for the powerful, the wealthy, and the unscrupulous to undermine the ideal of government run by and for ordinary citizens.
The antidote is vigorous support for the expression of unpopular views, widespread literacy, substantive debate, a common familiarity with critical thinking, and skepticism of pronouncements of those in authority—which are all also central to the scientific method."

Everyone is calling for Rhule to be fired but it just isn’t gonna happen with his huge buyout and the (quite unnecessary) stadium renovation.
Start with the person who did that.
The person who screws season ticket holders.
Dannen.
He needs to be shown the door TOMORROW.

If this ball gets knocked out, game over. 4th & 18 with a 4-point lead.
Near sack, near strip, near win. But a loss.

I got to lead the HUSKIES spell out at Nebraska after the pick 6 from Alex. Honestly a dream. This is why CFB is just so incredible man. I LOVE @UW_Football! ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️

Michael Penix Jr walked down one of the best defenses in the league today with over 200 yards and 3 TDs and it’s like no one cares.

It'll never be wild how miserable Kalen DeBoer looks every moment of his life now compared to how cheerful he was at Washington
NEW: Tennessee set the highest scientifically verified dB record in College Football history against Alabama on this play (130.3), the school announced.

🏈 If you put the passionate UW fan base thru ANOTHER inexplicable period of non-competitiveness in current environment & economy there is the danger of falling of a precipice. Zero reasons UW shouldn’t be top 1/3 of B1G annually. AD & BoR need to solve for today’s reality. 🔚

For more than 100 years, college football had no formal championship game. Despite this absurdity in the most absurd sport, 100+ programs still found real reasons to care.
Everything good is eventually crushed for cash, but I’ll never get how people were conned into believing the only way a game matters is with title stakes. Laughably out of touch with the history and soul of CFB, but these folks drive much of the conversation and make every decision steering it to hell.

The first round CFP game between JMU and Oregon drew the exact same rating as New Mexico vs Minnesota in the Rate Bowl on December 26th
The people in charge of college football just killed the regular season to create a few more C-Tier games
If the President and Congress want to “Save College Sports” then they’ll ban CFP expansion past 16 teams and save college athletics from the admins and commissioners who are chasing the casual one weekend viewer over the diehards who made college football into America’s second most popular sport

CFB once had the most important regular season in any sport. It was unique; it was intense; it was legendary. Each game mattered, each loss was devastating, each Saturday life or death.
We traded it all to become minor-league NFL.
Assisted suicide with ESPN holding the needle.
