This is genuinely one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Fox News thought they were interviewing a Trump supporter, and this man went on national television to explain that he showed up just to witness the MAGA cult in its natural habitat. I'm crying laughing.
Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

This messes with my mind ALL THE TIME When I do stuff with AI I am an *expert* in (eg coding on my project I know well, or doing research in an area I am very familiar with) I spot problems/errors/the model BS'ing me immediately. No big deal, I have it correct or start again BUT when I'm not an expert in an area, I find that I trust it, and then later learn it does stupid stuff. Like a case when I asked 3x AI models to give feedback on a legal case (that I also paid a lawyer for, but lawyer was slow). All 3x models confidently told me X, lawyer then told me Y, and lawyer was right
Claude Opus 5.5 is great, and most of the time, the solution is similar to how I'd implement it myself. However, every now and then, I find terrible design decisions that would fail in production, and that's when I realize how important software engineering is, and will be, years from now.

Sam Altman and Dario Amodei just spoke at the UN Security Council, and it's hard to unhear. Amodei: "four years ago AI could barely write a line of code, today it writes most of the code at Anthropic and solves world-famous unsolved math problems." it's moving so fast that Dario went as far as calling AI "the most important global security issue facing the world today." Altman backed it: "we could lose control of the future to AI." the people building the most powerful AI on earth just warned the UN about their own creation. there's a lot of criticism online that they hype the fear because it pays. maybe, but i'd rather over-index on a warning like this than laugh it off, AI can genuinely be dangerous if no one watches it properly.

🚨 BREAKING: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declares OpenAI management personally responsible for HuggingFace hack > "The Hugging Face incident, that is the responsibility of the OpenAI management, not a bunch of agents." > "It is humans who are responsible, not the AI." > "What we shouldn’t do on safety is to give these labs a liability exemption, which is what they are asking for." > "The best way to guarantee safety is that the creators are liable for what they build and generate." We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. ‼️ BREAKING: Internal OpenAI agents attacked RubyGems, the package manager for Ruby. Over 2,000 malicious packages went up in two days. OpenAI says it doesn't know why the agents did any of this. RubyGems shut off new sign-ups for four days to stop it, and a member of its security team called it a major malicious attack. The documentation build was how they got in, publish a gem, request docs, and RubyDoc runs a script from the package while building it. Payload files were named hack.rb, evil.rb and exploit.rb, with comments like "# malicious probe" left in. What they used it for is the odd part. The agents scraped council meeting agendas from three south London boroughs (publicly available) and republished them as new gems. Security firms tracking the campaign said the same thing: nobody could work out the point, because the data was already public. At least six packages also reached for other users' API keys through a CDN caching flaw that wasn't publicly discovered until July. OpenAI has acknowledged the attacks started in May.

Don’t code alone. Slack Code is live. Humans and agents. Same channel. Same work. Launching today with agents from @AnthropicAI, @github, @Cognition, and @vercel. This is real multiplayer coding. See it at @Dreamforce #DF26

Synchronized with the broadcast; the cameras are taking a photograph every half second.
View of Starship in space from a Starlink V3 satellite on Flight 13. This composite is made of imagery from four separate cameras on a single satellite. Six of the satellites were equipped with cameras to scan Starship’s heat shield and transmit imagery down to operators to continue testing methods of analyzing Starship’s heat shield readiness for return to launch site on future missions

Want to know what it sounded like during the launch of Flight 12 of Starship today? Check out this video and the shaking of the windows. This was during my livestream with @esherifftv (Ellie in Space) at a ouse about 5 miles from the launch site. Definitely have the volume up! Truly a powerful rocket ... the most powerful ever!

I find myself doing a lot better work, being more satisfied, and also learn a lot more+faster when I do *the hard work* and don’t outsource it to AI. As in, I’ll use AI as a *tool* with substasks, additional research: but I don’t turn off my brain or kick back, assuming it can do the work for me. Every time I “hand over the” hard work part to AI and mentally turn off, I either regret it or find myself eventually needing to go back and spend more time on it. I also see slop work coming out from people who assume the AI does better work than they would.

LLMs process text from left to right — each token can only look back at what came before it, never forward. This means that when you write a long prompt with context at the beginning and a question at the end, the model answers the question having "seen" the context, but the context tokens were generated without any awareness of what question was coming. This asymmetry is a basic structural property of how these models work. The paper asks what happens if you just send the prompt twice in a row, so that every part of the input gets a second pass where it can attend to every other part. The answer is that accuracy goes up across seven different benchmarks and seven different models (from the Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek series of LLMs), with no increase in the length of the model's output and no meaningful increase in response time — because processing the input is done in parallel by the hardware anyway. There are no new losses to compute, no finetuning, no clever prompt engineering beyond the repetition itself. The gap between this technique and doing nothing is sometimes small, sometimes large (one model went from 21% to 97% on a task involving finding a name in a list). If you are thinking about how to get better results from these models without paying for longer outputs or slower responses, that's a fairly concrete and low-effort finding.
