Happy birthday to my friend and colleague @Nigel_Farage aka Mr Brexit 🇬🇧🎉

Why did Farage and Tice both lie about knowing Nathan Gill when it is so well documented they are life long allies?
Why did Farage, as an MEP, also vote against stopping Russian propaganda?
So many questions now need to be asked, and answered.

Ex-leader of Reform UK in Wales Nathan Gill is sentenced to 10 & a half years in jail for taking bribes as part of a pro-Russia influence campaign
The judge described it as "sophisticated offending"and says the harm it inflicted is "profound"
Gill was paid thousands of pounds to give TV interviews in favour of a key Putin ally and to make speeches in the European Parliament, where he was an MEP from 2014 to 2020

Hope HMRC are investigating whether Gill evaded tax on the bribes he received.
(Bribes are absolutely taxable income, but people tend not to declare them to HMRC...)

This is scandalously inaccurate from the minister even for a party conference speech.
“Millions are getting benefits for anxiety and ADHD, along with a free Motability car.”
Tory shadow minister @Helen_Whately lies at #CPC25 further demonising mental health claimants and deliberately stoking hatred and prejudice against disabled people.

2. Barrowman and Mone reckoned that the chance of the Government winning in court AND then being able recover the money from them was high enough that it was worth paying £23m to make the whole thing go away.

Key point in Dan’s brilliant take down of fantasies of left on tax. Equivalent fantasy on right is huge painless spending cuts.
We can have bigger state and more tax on average earners. We can have smaller state and real cuts in public services/benefits.
Thats it. The choice
Replying to @DanNeidle
I worry that the Left has stopped making the argument for a more expansive state funded by most people paying more tax. Instead we're left with the false claim that Other People will always pay.

Two days before the 2016 Brexit referendum, Daniel Hannan wrote about what life would be like in Britain on 24 June 2025 if we voted to Leave.
A week ago, he wrote in the Telegraph that Britain is turning into a third world country.
He got paid for both articles.

"It wouldn't even be in the top 100 of things that I would do with my £1.25 billion if I wanted to act on poverty. Almost none of the people impacted by this will be in poverty. Most of them will be at least as well off as the average in the population.
"We know that poverty is much worse among families with children than it is with pensioners, and of course the poorest pensioners are already getting this - they are covered through the pension credit system".

Just a pic of Amaia in the swing after refurbished playpark reopened using the swing. It was so appreciated having it installed.
