I’ve been sharing research about how remote work hurts mental health.
Getting lots of angry comments from folks who like WFH.
A common critique of our research is that in other studies, participants say they like remote work. And many stay in remote positions. So people are voting with their feet, right?

Today we released our new NBER working paper: "Easy A's, Less Pay: The Long-Term Effects of Grade Inflation."
Joint work with Rachel Nesbit, Nolan Pope, and Merrill Warnick.
Grades in U.S. high schools have risen steadily over the past several decades, but the effect is unknown
Kate Musen (@khmusen) has a super impressive portfolio of work on investing in vulnerable children--her JMP examines the effect of extended foster care. Be sure to check it out at katemusen.com!

Hannah's JMP shows that, when the minimum wage increases, schedule unpredictability goes up too. Perhaps not surprising (but hard to show)--as the wage goes up, workers pay in other ways. She has a number of very cool and important papers! hannahfarkas.github.io
Excited to see my JMP cited in the Economist—it highlights the tradeoffs workers could face with a higher minimum wage and suggests more worker protections like Fair Workweek laws could be important alongside minimum wage increases
