Today marks 7 years since the Grenfell Tower fire. 72 people lost their lives in this preventable tragedy. They were victims of corporate greed and institutional neglect. The fight for justice is far from over. #Justice4Grenfell

Pubs present: Here is Simon the Tanner pub, Long Lane, Bermondsey in 1976. The pub dates to the early 19th Century (possibly earlier) and its name is associated with the many animal tanning businesses and pits once part of the Bermondsey landscape. 📷P10285

The AELTC plan to fell 300 mature trees in order to build an industrial tennis complex with 38 courts, which require 4000 tonnes of concrete as well as a Stadium 104 metres wide by 28 metres high and 10 other maintenance buildings, the largest of which is 30,000 sq feet. As well as the 300 mature trees another 500 will be uprooted as they need to level the whole Grade II* Heritage parkland removing 1 - 9 metres deep of soil across the entire area.

Obviously due to our proximity to Central London. The social housing that is on prime real estates is steadily being demolished. The Heygate and Aylesbury estates being gentrified has had a major impact in Southwark, & regen of Myatt's Field and Brixton has impacted Lambeth.
