JAY-Z addresses the hate he’s been receiving online recently, on night two at SoFi Stadium:
“Y’all gotta be very aware what’s going on in the world, right? People will tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes, you can see. People will tell you that the music wasn’t great, but you got ears. [...] Question everything in this world of AI.”

Bana b'#Rwanda🇷🇼 , you carry a potential far greater than you realize. To walk in a time when your President genuinely listens, champions your dreams, and affirms your value is a profound gift. It is a privilege some of us only ever dreamed of having. May you cherish it and never take it for granted💗
Open letter to fellow millennials
Before responsibilities humbled us, THIS was how we moved! 🔥 This dance knew our secrets!
Remember, we didn’t survive our youth just to sit down when this song comes on. 😂 legends can relate!
For all our good and bad sides, we Millennials are a unique breed.
We weren’t born to behave, yet somehow we turned out better behaved than the generations that followed. 🤣 (I may get a beating for this but..)
We were born to create memories, live lively yet we had nothing and enjoy life to the fullest.
Sadly, we are now at an age where we have too many responsibilities to create the same memories, and even if we tried, we’d need three business days to recover from short party 😂 we lived

A compelling and well-researched analysis by Minister @DrDamascene.
Analysis written based on Prof. Filip Reyntjens’ own writings and statements for the sake of clarity, honesty and scientific objectivity.
Minister Bizimana writes:
"Even though Reyntjens appears confident, he does not stand by his choices when questioned about his bias against academic requirements. He resorts to slander and intimidation by insulting those who point out his mistakes, calling them 'RPF fanatics', 'idiots', 'stupid', 'poor', 'ridiculous', 'trolls', etc.
(...) he plays the victim by arguing that people are attacking him personally rather than his arguments.
However, it is impossible to understand an author's ideas without knowing his personality and motivations, and without examining his intellectual capacity.
In this case, the fundamental question concerns the credibility of Reyntjens' expertise on Rwanda, a country he describes himself as an 'expert', an 'opportunist' and a 'political activist', even though, as indicated above, he has not set foot there for more than thirty years.
He publishes on the basis of unreliable information gathered mostly on social media, which comes from perpetrators of genocide against the Tutsi, whom he has associated with in the past, their sympathizers, or 'opponents' who have left Rwanda, often for reasons related to crimes they committed there."

This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame received Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff who is in Rwanda on a working visit. They discussed ways forward to deepen existing defence cooperation between Rwanda and Nigeria.
Rwanda 🇷🇼 continues to stand out in the 2026 @TheWJP Rule of Law Index, released yesterday.
Here’s the scorecard:
1st of 34 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa
40th of 143 countries worldwide
Factor by factor, the story gets even better:
✅ Absence of corruption: 29th globally, 1st in the region
✅ Order and security: 28th globally, 1st in the region
✅ Civil justice: 31st globally, 1st in the region
✅ Regulatory enforcement: 36th globally, 1st in the region
✅ Criminal justice: 36th globally, 2nd in the region
✅ 1st among low-income countries
The report finds that over 86% of countries have seen a sustained five-year decline in at least one safeguard against authoritarian rule, such as limits on government power, open government or fundamental rights.
Rwanda is not among them.
While freedom of expression, civic participation and judicial checks on government declined in most countries this year, Rwanda held its ground with good performance.
The index draws on more than 215,000 household surveys and 3,400 expert surveys, so this is ordinary people telling the world how justice actually feels on the ground in Rwanda.

[AD]: Finding a first job in #Rwanda shouldn’t depend on already having work experience.
Since 2018, @HarambeeRw Youth has been connecting young Rwandans with employers who need talent that is ready for work. That means communication, confidence, professionalism, and soft skills “that are not in textbooks.”
Young graduates are moving from part-time work into full-time roles in the Global Business Services sector. Employers are not looking for perfection. They want people who are present and coachable.
Employers such as CCI Rwanda , NCBA Bank Rwanda and TeKnowledge already hire through Harambee, from entry-level roles in GBS and banking to new AI skills training
To date, Harambee has impacted more than 40,000 young people, generated over 4,000 jobs, and directly skilled more than 3,000 young people. The goal is to reach 20,000+ young people in the next three to four years, including refugees, persons with disabilities, and young women.

A single night walk in 2012 is an impression, not evidence. The measurable data points the other way. Gallup's 2025 Global Safety Report found 78 percent of Rwandan adults say they feel safe walking alone at night, the highest in Sub-Saharan Africa and ahead of the UK (76%), France (73%) and the US (71%).
That's not fear; that's people telling a global pollster they feel safe in their own streets. @SuunaKing_James @Umwananumu2b9z
And as for @mwema20 can you bring the US travel advisory status of each country in the region? Why did your country’s ranking sink yet Rwanda’s ranking remained up and safe?
And to all of you questioning about or soldiers and police on the streets, well, just 32 years again we lost a million people to a Genocide against the Tutsi
Visible security and neighbours who ask who you are come from a society that decided never again to look away.
Many countries, including ones lecturing Rwanda, keep armed guards outside embassies, malls and homes without anyone calling it terror.
Fear doesn't produce 97% trust in the police and 99% in the army, as a Rwanda Governance Board survey found.
A few visits can't tell you what 14 million people feel every day. Come back, stay longer, and talk to people.
The next time you come after Rwanda, first do enough homework. Rwanda is intentional in everything.

Back in 2012 while taking a night walk in Nyamirambo, I was shocked to see soldiers standing in the dark on the fence of residences. On another early morning a man approached us as we freely walked towards the cicukiro geno site and asked whether we are foreigners, that Rwandans can’t move freely in a group and in early morning talking to each other like the way we were doing. I have noticed fear among the population from my experience of the few visits to Kigali.
