Interessant: Het Europese parlement financiert een bijeenkomst met NGO’s, politici en andere activisten over hoe de regering Trump kan worden verzwakt. De links-radicale professor Cas Mudde mag als belangrijkste spreker ook wat belastinggeld komen innen.

Ayn Rand’s We the Living is the book of choice this month for my book club No Due Date. I haven’t read the book since my teenage years, but the power of her story telling of the horrors of collectivism in crushing the spirit of man as well as the decline in material well being still comes through on every page. It is my favorite Rand novel, though less famous than Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. But reading the book this month reminded me of this paper of mine.

I studied law. I reject the Gaza genocide accusation. Aid, vaccinations and civilian warnings matter when assessing intent. The ICJ has not ruled that genocide occurred. Presenting the accusation as an established fact spreads a libel.

There were Palestinians who were indeed driven out of their homes — not unlike Indians, Koreans, Germans, French, Jews across the Arab world, and others who were driven out of their homes but in much larger numbers. But the Holocaust-ization of the Israeli war of independence (which left about 13,000 dead out of a population of roughly 1.4 million Palestinian Arabs) is a historical fever dream mostly concocted by the KGB in the service of the Soviet Union’s war against the “Zionist entity.”

De hele twintigste eeuw was één groot experiment met het communisme. In allerlei landen is geprobeerd het te verwezenlijken. Nergens is het gelukt. Integendeel: overal is de theoretische droom in de praktijk verworden tot een helse nachtmerrie. Zie: Stéphane Courtoise e.a. Wie nu nog communist is, heeft gravitas noch humanitas. In gewoon Nederlands: hij is een charlatan.
