Boy that's a rough loss for Brooklyn. So many chances to put Boston away in overtime. One bad decision after another by Mikel Brown, but hard to blame a rookie guard in his third game and not the third-year head coach Jordi Fernández for better preparing his team for a moment like that. Keeping Brown in the game for a defense-only possession says it all to me about how ill-prepared Fernandez was. And the Nets remain winless.

Trade: The #Colts are trading 3-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the #49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @AdamSchefter. A reunion!! Now Buckner returns to SF, fortifying their defensive line.

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

Are we sure the Giants are much worse, if at all, with Micah McFadden at middle linebacker rather than Tremaine Edmunds? McFadden had 10 tackles including two for a loss vs. Texans.

Giants LB Tremaine Edmunds’ shoulder injury season-ending, per sources. Another major blow for the Giants, who have already lost QB Jaxson Dart and OLB Brian Burns and a handful of other contributors to season-ending injuries. Edmunds had played every defensive snap, helping rookie LB Arvell Reese’s acclimation to the NFL. Micah McFadden steps into Edmunds’ role. John Harbaugh has stated that the Giants have three starting ILB, so McFadden gets his shot.

#Lions TE Sam LaPorta on not getting a contract extension: “It’s disappointing that you go out there every week and bear the risk of getting hurt. Like last year, I broke my f—ing back for the team. And then I’m going out there this year and I’m balling, and maybe they’re just not showing the love. “I’m going to continue to do my thing and ball out, and in three months, if I don’t get to wear the Honolulu blue and play for the Lions anymore, it’s going to be all good.
