A prayer found in the tomb of our Lord Jesus Christ in 1505
This prayer was found in the tomb of our Lord Jesus Christ in 1505
For he who prays this prayer does not die a sleepless death nor a wicked death, but is saved from the yellow air and from plagues and from thunderstorms, and does not die without confession, and is saved from his enemies and from those who wronged the government, and from the women who are tormented by childbirth, and is easily born, and for whom this book is revealed, and the mother of God, our Lady Mary, the Virgin, appeared to him before her death by forty days. Saint Gregory the Pope said that the captain will come when it is evening, looking near Barcelona with his head cut off from his body, so he said this because you are going to Barcelona, send a teacher of confession so that he may confess, and the thieves cut off my head three days ago, and do not let my soul out before confession, so when the captain arrives in Barcelona, send him a teacher of confession, and after his confession, the soul is saved, and it finds this book in his pocket by miracle.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, God the One, Amen.
† O great God, who suffered on the cross for my sins, be with me.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, have mercy on me.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, save me from every harm.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, save me from every deadly sin.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, save me from every mortal danger.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, bring me to the way of salvation.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, save me from every bodily or spiritual danger.
† O Jesus Christ, by your holy cross, strengthen me and make me steadfast in your love, exalted be your name forever.
† O Lord, we prostrate ourselves before Your holy cross, and on Your holy day, O Lord, we glorify You.
† By the right of Your miraculous birth, Your precious blood, and Your death on the cross for my sins, protect me, amen.
† Protect me, O Jesus, for You are able to lead me to the path of salvation and make me one of Your chosen ones, amen.

In November 1984, 17-year-old Lisa McVey was riding her bike home after a double shift at a donut shop in Tampa, Florida.
Out of nowhere, a man dragged her off the bike and forced her into his car.
He blindfolded Lisa, pressed a gun to her head and drove to his apartment. For the next 26 hours, he raped and tortured her.
The girl believed she was going to die. But she was determined that if she did, police would catch the man who killed her.
So she paid attention to everything. She peeked under her blindfold whenever she could, counted the steps up to his apartment and pressed her fingerprints onto every surface she could reach in his bathroom.
She also kept him talking and promised to be his girlfriend. She even made up a story that her father was seriously ill and depended on her.
Slowly, it worked. After 26 hours, he drove her back toward her grandmother's house and apologized. Then he told her “Tell your father he's the reason why I didn't kill you."
Every detail she had memorized, from his car to his apartment to the ATM he had stopped at, led police straight to him.
His name was Bobby Joe Long. That year, he killed at least 10 women in the Tampa area. He was arrested on November 16, 1984, and later sentenced to death.
Years later, Lisa joined the same sheriff's office that caught him and became a deputy who helps survivors of sexual violence.
In 2019, when Long was executed, she sat in the front row.

Ah, the inclusive Synodal Church.
Some theories are circulating online about the Latin Mass pilgrimage, spread by people unconnected with it.
Some clarity below —
Organisers asked for permission for the Vatican Mass, via a letter delivered directly to Pope Leo by Bishop Schneider in December. The pilgrimage is in its 15th year, and is always held on the same date.
Organisers received no answer about the Mass until August, when the Secretariat of State replied to say they could not have Mass in the Vatican. Pilgrimage organisers then announced publicly that no Mass would take place in the Vatican.
Instead, pilgrims would process into the Vatican at 1pm on the Saturday, and then go to St Mary Major for a 3pm Mass. Permission for the procession into the Vatican was granted in April 2026.
Weeks after this, in September, St Peter’s announced an event taking place at 3:30pm at the Altar of the Chair (used by the pilgrimage last year for Mass).
Then this week – just yesterday I am told – organisers received another letter from the Secretariat of State informing them they could not even process into the Vatican as planned, and as permitted since April. Basilica events are not the prerogative of the Secretariat but of the Archpriest & the Fabric of St Peter’s: hence why the Secretariat of State’s involvement is so strange.
On Saturday, pilgrims walked through the streets up to the obelisk in St. Peter’s Square – accompanied by Italian state police – where they were stopped by the Vatican as this was the limit of the Italian police’s jurisdiction.
Then they were informed that their usage of St Mary Major’s had changed: they could only be inside for an hour.
Thus meaning that the planned and authorised pontifical solemn Mass would have to be a low Mass.
Also St Mary Major’s informed pilgrimage that no official photos could be taken
