This morning, together with the Chair and Vice Chairperson of the @Parliament_Ug Committee on Trade and Tourism and the @udc_uganda Board, we started inspecting ongoing works on the Busunju–Kiboga–Hoima Road. UDC’s investment of UGX 96 billion for a 29% stake in ATSGCL has built the capacity of a Ugandan company in the construction business, now at 40% progress. I commended the work and urged the technical team to expedite it towards the February 2027 completion target. As we celebrate 10 years of UDC on 20th November 2026, we shall be celebrating the impact of our investments in projects like these in terms of jobs created, connectivity, and support to industrialization programs. Government remains committed to infrastructure development as a key driver of industrialisation, in line with the NRM Manifesto. #Industrialisation #InfrastructureDevelopment #NRMManifesto

I am joining representatives from across EAC at @iucea_info, for the 21st Sectoral Council Meeting on Education, Science, Technology, Culture and Sports (ESTCS). The meeting brings together Senior Officials, Permanent Secretaries and Ministers from EAC Partner States to review progress on regional commitments and deliberate on key priorities shaping the future of education, science, technology and innovation in East Africa. Of particular interest to me are the discussions around the EAC Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Digital Transformation Strategy, especially how we can ensure that young people are not left behind as our region embraces emerging technologies. Having been part of the regional conversations on Artificial Intelligence, I look forward to following these discussions, engaging with stakeholders and sharing insights on what the decisions mean for young people, innovators and the future of our region.
