Two interesting things I discovered this week are: 1. That you can get genuine court affidavits online from the Nigerian Federal High Court. A genuine one, not the ones those roadside people give you. The website has all sorts of affidavits, even ones I didn't know existed. 2. The National Population Commission has a working portal. You can register your newborn online and get a certified birth certificate that is accepted worldwide. You can do all these things without any bureaucracy. For 1, visit: portal.fhc.gov.ng/ For 2, visit: vitalreg-selfservice.nationa… Joseph Adedeji

No matter how holy a politician is and how unholy another is, it is not the job of a priest to mention names of who to vote and who not to vote. Catholic priests are by law banned from PARTISAN politics. That's why Fr Alia of Benue state is on suspension. Every priest who contested for political offices were banned from priestly ministry. No Catholic priest has the right to use the church to subtly or overtly tell people who to vote. Also as a Catholic, how could you not know when a Catholic priest is out of line? The beauty of the Catholic Church is that what we believe and practice are so clear that even when a pope deviates from the norm ordinary Catholics like us will know. This generation of Catholics that cheer and clap for priests whose deviant behaviors during liturgical celebrations are so obvious even to a blind person seems apocalyptic to me. A priest can adopt a candidate, go to people's houses to convince them to vote for such candidate, that's fine. Using the pulpit, the church or any public platform to tell people who to vote for and who not to vote for is partisan and unlawful for a priest. As a Catholic, don't cheer and clap for such priests. Shake your head in shame rather for him to see and after the mass or event, walk up to him and tell him: "Padre, you are breaking the law of the church" respectfully and firmly. Principles should not be sacrificed for persons, that's a recipe for anarchy.

1. Street begging exists in Indonesia. Recent 2025 reports highlight increases in Jakarta and Makassar due to unemployment and poverty, with government crackdowns ongoing. 2. No evidence of Jesus and Mary statues inside Yogyakarta's Kraton palace. Javanese-style icons exist at Ganjuran Church, about an hour away.

Ah?! 😲 At this point, we would only be left with "fact checking" and no need to bring people for interviews. Just ask the AI Chat bot Temi 🫣
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Media and Deputy DG of the City Boy Movement for Media, Public Affairs and Communications, O’tega Ogra @otegaogra, took the #AskCityBoy message to live television this morning, engaging and educating Nigerians about the platform. This is technology made simple, bringing information closer to the people in an accessible and engaging way. Beautiful to watch! Kudos to the brilliant team behind the City Boy Movement for making this initiative a reality. #AskCityBoy #CityBoyMovement #RenewedHope

How Una Dey Take Do am? Under Buhari, Nyesom Wike and Reno Omokri were your heroes. You celebrated them and there was nothing bad anyone could say about them to you. Under Tinubu, same people have become your worst villains and there's nothing good anyone can say about them to you. When killings happen in another region, you are loud in protest and vocal activism. When it happens in your own region, you go mute or explain it away when the culprits are your kith and kin. A president derogatorilly labels a group of people as 'dot in a circle' and you call him out, justifiably though. Another president labels entire country "shit hole" or "disgraced" or any other derogatory words and you celebrate him. A politician tells lies and you call him out or affirms criticism against him. Your favorite religious figure does same and you find a thousand and one reason why he must not be called out let alone criticised. Whoever you like can never ever be wrong on anything. Whoever you don't like or hate can never ever be right on anything. Whether this is some sort of charisma or ingenuity, I can't tell. I'm just wondering how una dey take do am🤷‍♂️ 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Lagos needs roughly 10,000–12,000 MW of capacity to fully meet demand for its ~20 million residents and economy (current grid supply is under 1,000 MW). A 480 MW powership like Osman Khan would supply only a fraction. Acquiring a similar vessel costs an estimated $400–700 million in capital. Leasing via long-term PPA typically involves capacity payments of $100–200 million per year plus fuel.

"...Before the bold and courageous decision made by President Bola Tinubu, we were almost at an economic precipice in this country. I'm sure you knew what the ways and means we had accumulated. We're talking about over 27 trillion ways and means... But for the courageous decision the President... today we have a reserve that can sustain us for the next 10 to 11 months. Our foreign reserve today is about 58 billion, the highest in almost two decades. Now, you look at our foreign exchange..." - Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu State

Is it just me, or that does not look like tear gas? How are people so close and not reacting? Looks like just smoke. Unless this "tear gas" is not the one we grew up knowing. Everyone just casually standing around and not irritated? 🤔
They are normalising this bullying system of governance that has come to describe what the APC government has become, and the citizen is going to have to really understand what is at stake here because we need a government that actually understands that lives were lost on this day. Innocent citizens were killed. - Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, ADC governorship candidate, Lagos State, speaking on the sixth EndSARS anniversary at the Lekki Tollgate #CTVMorningBrief

How is saving money meant for projects and development an achievement? Was there nothing else to do with the money - no social intervention, no roads to fix, no hospitals to build or renovate, no environmental challenges, no ideas? What is special is keeping money in a bank when your doctors and lecturers went on strike because of your pay? Tinubu left N27bn for Fashola. You will never see him mention it.
