the NDP lost this on their own. but even if the NDP and green vote WAS split in every riding the NDP lost, it wouldn’t be the fault of green voters. FPTP is an incredibly stupid way to do elections in a multi-party system. we need proportional representation yesterday.

The problem is that if you vote & it doesn’t elect anyone, under our First Past the Post System, your vote does not count. If we were creating democracy today, we’d never use FPTP. It’s beyond time to embrace electoral reform. #BCElection2026
My wife said to me, “I begrudgingly went out and voted.” And you know what? She still showed up. Don't ever think your vote doesn't matter. IT DOES! You don't have to love the choices, but you should never underestimate the power of your voice. Get out and VOTE! 🗳️ #bcpoli

The abysmal, 48% turnout in yesterday's election is worrisome. It means, despite the Conservatives' large majority, only 23% of the electorate voted for them, and ofc, it's even lower for the NDP. Is it time for proportional representation, or compulsory voting? #bcpoli

The general public's obliviousness to the distortion of First Past the Post is so discouraging. People will complain having to vote strategically, then stop short of mentioning it only happens under FPTP. They'll talk about "voting their heart" as if that works under FPTP

Eby lost this election through multiple egregious mistakes, arrogance & lack of political skill. But we also need to see his catastrophic loss as proof of what happens when "progressives" swing to the right. Eby is not the first centrist to be shown this. #bcpoli

First Past the Post really is a vile electoral system. It's built on blackmail. "No, you can't have your vote represented in govt. Yes, we will hold a gun to your head to vote for the lesser evil who betrayed you, and if that lesser evil loses, we will blame you" Pro rep now.

I guess you always knew the vote splitting question was coming, but she handled it well. And she’s right about the pro rep referendum. The BCNDP sabotaged that referendum and Eby was key in it. I also like how she mentioned parties should earn your vote. Because they should.

More than 6 in 10 people in Holborn and St Pancras stayed at home yesterday. Of those who voted, more than 50% didn't get the representation they asked for. Regardless of who you supported, we can hopefully all agree: we deserve a better democracy.

BREAKING: A top GOP official in Texas says, "It looks like we f*cked ourselves with gerrymandering. We watered down all the red districts to steal as many blue ones as possible, and now because voters turned against us we'll lose many more seats than if we hadn't tried to cheat."
