College football is such a gift.
Saturdays in the fall are precious.
Extreme ranges of emotion.
Beautifully unpredictable.
Identities that define entire regions.
Cherished traditions that cross generations.
Pride for who and what we are.
Just fabulous.

Imagine watching the NFL and thinking it's better than this right now.

North Texas opened as a road favorite at Tulane for the AAC title.
AP has UNT at 20, Tulane at 21. BCS would have UNT at 20, Tulane unranked. SP+ has UNT 16th, Tulane 42nd(!!).
The only ranking that views Tulane above UNT is the CFP, which is what the AAC uses.

SP+ is updated! North Texas and Vandy rise, while Syracuse, Florida and UCLA (very, very predictably) plummet. I said we were teetering between order and chaos in last week's preview, and the universe evidently chose order. For the most part.

Curious how many AP Poll voters know James Madison beat Washington State by 4 and North Texas beat Washington State by 49.
(I think JMU is a really good team, it's just an obvious comparison point)

The Ravens announced former Linebacker Coach Zach Orr as their new Defensive Coordinator. Zach is a leader of men who knows how to get the best out of his players and is consistent. Same guy, every day. INTENSE but calm. Zach has all the makings of a Head Coach. PHENOMENAL HIRE.
