DP World and Essar Foundation have announced the Shri Shashi Ruia Memorial Golf Championship, featuring a ₹2 crore prize pool for the main tournament and ₹50 lakh for the Pro-Am event.
Speaking at the announcement in Mumbai, DP World PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl highlighted how the championship could set a new benchmark for prize money and encourage greater corporate investment in Indian golf.
PGTI president and former India cricket captain Kapil Dev emphasised the need for better infrastructure, grassroots participation and wider access to golf to help Indian players compete internationally.
