ALT YES WE CAN Pass the Climate and Nature Act. "The CAN bill recognises the scope, scale, and kind of action required. I urge Exeter's MPs in the strongest possible terms to put party politics aside and back this historic legislation to save our future." -Will Aczel, former Lib Dem MP Candidate for Exeter. ALT Over 18,000 pensioners in Exeter will lose the Winter Fuel payment. This change was not in the Labour Party election manifesto and hits pensioners without advance notice at the same time as energy prices will increase by 10% this Winter. It was very disappointing the Labour Group on Exeter City Council voted down this motion en-bloc.

ALT Unity Rally. Stop the far right. Refugees welcome. 12 noon Saturday 10th August. Bedford Square, Exeter High Street. Organised by Exeter Together and Exeter Stand Up To Racism. This is not a counter protest to any planned far right activity, rather a peaceful way Exeter can show its commitment to unity, anto-racism and diversity.

ALT With Devon and Cornwall Police in 'special measures' it is time for change. The Conservatives have failed Devon and Cornwall on law and order. Steve Lodge will rebuild trust, unity and accountability in the fight against crime. Voting Thurssday 2nd May. Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner X Steve Lodge.

ALT The best choice for our community on 2n May: Vannessa Newcombe. Vanessa has long connection with St Thomas. Fighting for funding for basics like street cleansing and value for money, open, and consultative decision-making. Working hard with Cllr Adrian Fullam to get a fair deal for St Thomas. The result last year shows only Lib Dem Vanessa can beat Labour here in St Thomas.

ALT Elect someone who fights for our community on 2nd May: Tammy Palmer. Lives in the ward and speaks up on behalf of the local community. A proven community campaigner who puts our area first. Working with Cllrs Kevin and Michael to get a fair deal for local people. The result last year shows only Lib Dem Tammy can beat Labour here in Duryard & St James.

ALT For a fair deal for Priory ward, on 2nd May vote: Philip Thomas. Campaigning for the community he lives in and cares about. Fighting for funding for crucial services like recycling and the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Pushing for the council to be open to public scrutiny and properly consult communities. Electing a mix of councillors strengthens your voice. Especially since, unlike Labour Cllrs, Lib Dem Cllrs are free to vote in the interests of their community. Make your voice heard with Lib Dem Philip Thomas.

ALT A summary of my views - There needs to be a forum held as some as possible involving all groups who wish to contribute to a plan for a viable LTN suited to the needs of the area. The present trail should continue whilst this deliberation takes place If there are agreed changes to be made to the present LTN they should be implemented asap and form a part of the existing trial period. Evidence collected to date should be made available to all interested parties and should help inform any amendments to the current scheme. Clearly all parties must be supportive of the broad principles behind the concept of LTN’s. Clearly there has to be community support for the implementation of any scheme at the end of the trail period. This community based model supported by independent public consultation should form the model for any future plans for further LTN’s.
