MPs have BACKED @sarahjolney1's Lib Dem bill on electoral reform. This is a historic day for fair votes.
Today, as we have done for a century, Liberal Democrats are leading the fight for fair votes and making sure that no one can be ignored in our democracy.
Fixing our broken electoral system, introducing fair votes, and making sure everyone's voice matters is the best way to rebuild trust in our politics.
We are grateful to all MPs who have backed our call. The government must now listen to the will of the House, make time for the legislation and make fairer a votes a reality and we will be holding their feet to the fire to make this happen.
MPs will today vote on @sarahjolney1's bill, which would introduce electoral reform and proportional representation to elections in England.
Following years of the Conservatives’ denigrating standards in public life, we urgently need to restore the public’s trust in politics. Fixing our voting system is a perfect start.
First Past the Post is not fit for purpose. We believe every vote should count equally. We are calling for Labour MPs to vote with their own members and back this Bill.

Proud to attend and speak at the @Right_2Roam @EveryonesStars rally outside of the Supreme Court today. Access to nature is a fundamental necessity for all of us. It’s a tragedy that this principle must be tested, yet again, in the court room.

And yet, prices could rise by nearly £600 next year.

Last week, the Chancellor said the re-opening of Cullompton and Wellington stations would still go ahead. Yet this has now been thrown into doubt, with the Govt now saying they won’t be funded. That’s why @GideonJAmos and I have written to the Rail Minister to demand answers.

No @libdems again on one of the BBC’s flagship political programmes. You would have thought winning a record 72 MPs would end the BBC’s prejudice against Britain’s Liberal voices.

People oppose renewable energy projects if don't see the benefits.
So let's legislate so people do:
⏩Clear framework for local discounts
⏩Promote community-ownership
⏩Reduce planning barriers for easier mixed-land use.
Get local communities on-board & costly barriers tumble.

We won’t be playing party political games.
It is time for proper, cross-party talks on social care funding, where tough but essential decisions are needed.
We will also make sure that carers cannot be forgotten again by people in power.

According to Starmer, FPTP "is the right system" and Labour is "not making any changes to it". He's the one to complain to.
