Anthropic CEO Answers the Question Everyone Cares About Most: Should You Still Learn Programming Now?
1. Programming will be the first to be eliminated.
AI models are already doing this. Broader software engineering tasks will take a bit longer, but they're also receding. If you're learning programming just to keep your job, you're heading in the wrong direction.
2. Even if you only do 5% of the work, it still has value.
AI does 95%, you do 5%, and your productivity can increase 20-fold. The power of comparative advantage is astonishing, even with huge gaps.
3. The most promising careers are human-centered.
Jobs that combine interpersonal skills, the physical world, and analytical abilities. He cited radiologists as an example: doctors who understand patients and context, not just those who can read scans.
4. Critical thinking may be the most important skill in the next decade.
When AI can generate anything, the ability to discern truth from falsehood becomes scarce and precious. You don't want to hold false beliefs or be deceived. This is his practical advice to 25-year-old young people.
5. If you don't use AI well, it will make you dumber.
Anthropic has done related research. Depending on how you use the models, the decline in coding ability is measurable and real. The problem isn't the tool—it's misuse.
6. He's bullish on semiconductors as capitalism's victory in the next decade.
The physical world, traditional engineering, direct AI dividends. Not software, but chips.

Creating a Tesla Roadster promo doesn’t have to begin with hours of manual setup. With the CapCut Web × Codex workflow, start by describing your concept and the story you want the video to tell. Codex helps translate your instructions into action by calling CapCut Web, where the video creation takes place. It’s a practical example of conversational AI editing: your words set the direction, and the tools help turn that direction into a visual result.

OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman: The "AI is wasting our water" story doesn't survive the math.
"For every 38,000 ChatGPT queries, that is the same amount of water that is used in the production of a single almond in California."
"This is the full-on, total true water accounting, not just what's running in one data center."
"It is true that data centers at one point used evaporative cooling. But they have not done that in a long time."
"A modern, very large data center uses the equivalent amount of water as an office building."
"That has been a robust meme and difficult to disprove, but I don't think it holds up to any scrutiny."
is he right?

An elderly man walked into a small store in America every morning.
He never bought much, but the owner always took a few minutes to talk to him.
One day, the man stopped showing up.
What the store owner did next is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness mean the most.

I got ~6 hours back every week, and better posts, the week I stopped doing my own analytics and handed them to Viktor.
I run a creator-led media business: content across LinkedIn, X, and a newsletter, with a team behind it.
Honestly, I didn't expect much. I assumed I'd still have to redo the numbers myself to trust them , so for weeks I kept pulling the analytics by hand "just to be sure." I stopped. It was right.
Here's the proof. I asked Viktor for a LinkedIn report at 9:02 AM. By 9:05, it was in my Slack. 12 pages. 4 weeks of data. 10 content ideas with hooks.
No exporting CSVs. No copying numbers into a spreadsheet. No staring at a dashboard trying to work out what mattered.
One message. I asked for reach and engagement numbers, my top posts, trends in topics and formats and timing, original vs. reposted performance, and what to publish next week.
What came back: the numbers already organized, the patterns behind them, and ten ideas with hooks based on what's actually working.
The part I didn't expect, the report wasn't the win. The decision was. I opened the PDF already knowing what I was posting next week.
And it didn't stay with me. Jena now hands Viktor the weekly content brief. Ethan hands, partner follow-ups. Same pattern: the repetitive prep goes to Viktor.
Analytics used to be the task I kept pushing to Friday afternoon. Now it takes Viktor three minutes, right where my team already works.
A dashboard shows you the data. A teammate tells you what to do with it.
What's one recurring report you'd hand off first?

A man pays $120 a month for Starlink at his lake cabin.
He's there four months a year. June, July, August, and a few weekends in September. The other eight months, the dish sits on the roof collecting snow, drawing power, and billing his card on the first of every month. $1,440 a year. Roughly $960 of it paid for internet nobody was using.
He never noticed. The charge was small enough to hide in the noise of his other bills. He signed up in 2022, entered his card once, and never opened the billing page again.
Then one night at a fire pit, his buddy, a former Starlink support rep who has fielded thousands of these calls, asked him a simple question: "What plan are you on?"
He didn't know. He couldn't tell you the name of the plan, the price he was supposed to be paying, or whether a cheaper option existed for his exact situation.
His buddy shook his head. "You're not paying for internet. You're paying for a dish that sits in the dark for eight months. And you've done it for years."
What he showed him over the next 25 minutes saved him hundreds of dollars and changed how he thinks about every subscription he owns.
Here are the 7 mistakes costing Starlink owners money: 🧵

A Starlink subscriber has paid $85 every month for 2 years. That's $2,040 total.
He climbed onto his roof on installation day, mounted the dish, plugged it in, and watched the app say "Online." He connected his phone to the WiFi. He opened Netflix. It played.
That was his entire Starlink experience.
For 24 months he never opened the app again. Not once. Not when his video calls froze every evening. Not when his son's game lagged at the exact same hour every night. Not when his wife complained that the WiFi was "dead" in the back bedroom. Not when the picture on Netflix dropped to blurry for 10 seconds and came back.
He just shrugged and said what every Starlink owner says:
"It's satellite internet. It's fine. It's good enough."
Fast enough. Reliable enough. Good enough.
Then one Saturday his neighbor leaned over the fence. The neighbor is a network engineer who runs Starlink too. He'd been watching the guy complain about "random drops" for two years and finally couldn't take it anymore.
"How long have you had yours?"
"Two years."
"And you've never opened the settings?"
"What settings?"
His neighbor stared at him for a few seconds. Then he said something that made him pull out his phone and open the Starlink app for the first time since installation day:
"You're paying $85 a month for a satellite dish that's capable of a lot more than you're using it for. You've been running it on factory defaults. Every problem you've blamed on Starlink for two years, I can probably fix in 20 minutes."
He found 11 settings, diagnostics, and features that were sitting inside the app and the dish the entire time. Tools that find dropouts, fix dead zones, protect the network, cut power use, and help the dish survive winter.
Most Starlink owners never touch a single one of them.
Here's every hidden Starlink setting he found, in the exact order his neighbor showed him. 🧵
