Ask that of all the other subnets not conviction locking and then have the conversation, but for some reason you seem fixated on Engy, for which the owner of those tokens has been transparent.
Personally i think conviction is a poor metric and prefer to see full supply burn. Do Chutes burn the supply or just convict revenue?

The economic value of Glm tokens is around 3x that of Deepseek

depends. if the coin is a commodity play, like representing inference and incentivising onboarding of it, then it needs to be near 100% buybacks.
If it's a business using the value the coin brings with it's output, then a lower rate of buyback and some representation of share on the IP/company.
This is actually an ongoing conversation had every day around Bittensor $TAO subnets.

@algodtrading recently shared that Engy, $TAO SN53, is growing at roughly 100% month over month.
Looking at the latest numbers, that growth doesn't seem to be slowing down.
Engy is now processing around 32 BILLION tokens per day. To put that into perspective, at the current pace, Engy would process in just 14
days what it processed over the previous 30.
And if this trajectory continues, October's growth could end up well above 100%.
What's exciting is that Engy is still a relatively young subnet thats only been live for a couple of months, with more infrastructure coming online and growing demand for low-cost AI inference.
The numbers are starting to speak for themselves.

Amazing stat, although i thought that the Netflix origin story was that they'd created their own proprietary compression and streaming techniques that they initially sold to other parties while they were waiting for the internet to catch up to speed in their early days.
Looks like they still do an element of this according to this article in 2024

This design was very intentional.
We’ve been watching subnets experiment with IMs for a couple years now. We’ve watched the research vs revenue debates.
We’re trying to end that debate with a new architecture.
Bittensor caliber research and discovery, but packaged into a valuable client focused deliverable.
Our first challenges are built to simulate this exact experience.
A real client problem handed to Bittensor to create a valuable product. Targeted product development.
Specialization can be Bittensor’s superpower when aimed at the right market.
A “firehose” of intelligence as @markjeffrey called it. Independently reviewed, and continuously improved.
