Coming off a 52–24 win over Madison and heading into Week 7, this is exactly what we want to see.
At this point in the season, nobody is fresh like they were in June or July. We’ve got six weeks of football on the body — practices, games, contact, school, travel, and accumulated fatigue. The goal now isn’t to bury athletes with more work. It’s to maintain and expose speed, manage fatigue, and keep the nervous system producing at a high level.
And the PRs are still coming.
18 athletes hit new Fly 10 PRs, led by:
* Tafaris Scott: +4.22 MPH
* Maliki Cobarris: +2.94 MPH
* Travis Reed: +2.93 MPH
* Brilan Cliffin: +2.50 MPH
* Marshall Marrero: +2.42 MPH
* Julius Givings: +2.18 MPH
And Tafaris deserves a special mention.
At 260+ pounds, running 19.37 MPH is a serious combination of size and speed. Moving that much body mass at nearly 20 MPH speaks to force production, coordination, relative athleticism, and the ability to apply force efficiently at high velocity. For a big, that is not just “good speed for his size” — that is a weapon.
The leaderboard now has 16 Skills/Big Skills athletes at 20+ MPH or right on the doorstep, with Kaidrin Jackson leading the way at 21.92 MPH, while Tafaris leads the Bigs at 19.37 MPH.
That’s the significance of testing now.
Early-season PRs are great. Week 7 PRs tell you something different. They show that athletes are not simply surviving the season and slowly losing physical qualities. We are still giving them opportunities to express speed while managing everything else football demands.
A big Friday night win is important. But being able to come back afterward and still produce some of your best speed numbers of the year is another indicator that we’re moving in the right direction.
We don’t train to win September testing.
We train so that when October and November football arrives, our athletes still have speed available when the games matter most.
Fatigue is the enemy, not the goal.

What do y’all think — is this significant?
Since March, Bradford Football has developed 51 athletes over 18 MPH, which is nearly 64% of the roster.
We now have 28 athletes at 20+ MPH, with:
1 at 23+
2 at 22+
7 at 21+
18 at 20+
And today, the group produced 20 new Fly 10 PRs, with individual improvements as high as +4.24 MPH from baseline.
So the question is for coaches, performance professionals, and football people:
When nearly two-thirds of your roster is over 18 MPH and 28 players are over 20 MPH, is that a significant team-speed profile at the high school level?
Interested to hear how this compares to other programs.
