If anyone needs a refresher on the history of the confederate flag (+ meaning) @KenBurns made an amazing docuseries about the civil war.

I see posts like this and *immediately* say quietly to myself “please let @Eduard have replied, please please please”…and when I see he has, I am just giddy.

We mourn the passing of Patrick Stewart, who inspired countless individuals at NASA (and beyond) to boldly go where no one has gone before.

25th October 1415 - The Battle of Agincourt 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Outnumbered and exhausted, King Henry V and his English army faced the might of French chivalry on a muddy battlefield in northern France. Against overwhelming odds, the English held firm. Their longbowmen unleashed volleys of arrows as the French advanced through the mud. Faith, discipline, courage and sheer English grit carried the day. Before battle, Henry and his men prayed to God. After their victory, they gave thanks through the 𝑻𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒖𝒎. The words of 𝑵𝒐𝒏 𝑵𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒔 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 declare: "Not unto us, O Lord, but unto thy name give glory." They fought beneath the Cross of St George, trusting in God and standing shoulder to shoulder. "Cry God for Harry, England, and Saint George!" 611 years later, we remember the Englishmen who fought and died at Agincourt. This is our history. These are our forefathers. Honour them 🏹 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Around the 1st century BC, the ancient Greco- Roman civilizations disposed of infants they decided weren’t “perfect”; simultaneously, incredible feats in engineering were awakening. Can you imagine amazing creations happening at the same time as barbaric, savage atrocities?

Personally, I think the reality of @SpaceX is better than any science fiction I’ve ever seen. It literally makes me want to cry, it’s so beautiful.

This festival is huge, people all over midtown BUT the crowds are patient, friendly, orderly. No frustration, no shenanigans … just well-organized and respectful crowds and staff. A true delight for those of us who live here 24/7!
You just had to be there 🤯

I’m listening to a grandma on her phone at the airport. She’s telling what seems to be a group call of her friends that they need to take tech classes for free at the @Apple store. I am telling you, no commercial could ever sell it better. Everyone here is ready to sign up.

Ah yes, live footage of a cycle being smashed to bits. Yay mama…and little one!
Is it bad that I could complete all of those without even thinking? I was once an adolescent psych nurse & have had some kids who reported their parents to CPS or the police, & all because they were mad at being disciplined. I can only imagine if I had done that as a kid😬😂

Lovely hero, what a kind soul you were. Thank you for giving us so much joy.

For a bit of context; I took this photo myself at the murder Kroger on Ponce. One needs to be terribly, acutely aware of ones surroundings when one goes to get groceries at this location - everyone knows this. (They don’t even bother to police the brass)

I love the entire thing. The wee fella just so happy even with a toy, the sweet brother sharing his emotions and hugging him, the kindness and love in the voices of the parents. All of this, all day, every day.
The fact that he's already greatful with the stuffed toy is just beautiful 😭😭😭😭

Agreed. It is an absolute honor to be a parent, always.
Parenthood is a privilege not a burden
