Not a single person on the face of planet earth has ever used the dream world to teambuild their BW in-game team

Sorry, call me a boomer or whatever but I'm not going into buy into the argument that HGSS are the "worst Pokémon games ever" just because Game Freak didn't design them around unemployed losers with no lives blasting through them in a single weekend

Yeah, I only encountered this discourse in the past few years, but all I ever hear about the Johto games is "level curve." I think younger fans who were bred on Pokémon-as-a-YouTube-Video have forgotten that early Pokémon games RPGs and not roguelikes or an esport.

i noticed a shift in public perception of generation 2 when challenge videos on youtube started becoming the norm over reviews. those videos use these games as a vehicle for content, so anything that becomes an inconvenience to their optimized play style is seen as a design flaw

Johto is forever tarnished because over the last 10 years the Pokemon community has been conditioned with Youtube challenge runs being 1 video and the dead of Lets Plays that you are supposed to be equal to the level of the Gym leader's ace.
The baby game in which you one shot anything if you use a STAB super effective move and they will burn you at the stake if you're 10 levels below the E4. In what other video games does this even apply to, what other boss fights do you have where your stats are supposed to equal that of the boss.

This is a good example of how Looney Tunes was taken for granted as common cultural knowledge 40 years ago. It's not even a reference to Bugs Bunny, it's One Froggy Evening - they trusted you'd watched enough Looney Tunes as a kid to have seen One Froggy Evening a few times.

The cheering for the destruction of their legacy from the "fans" is a massive blackpill. Does Wind Waker need more realistic water physics, does Twilight Princess need excessive particle effects and unreal engine fog everywhere? There is a deep sickness in the games industry
That pattern is called "having a soul". The ensouled can perceive the quality differences between these works which is why they end up mentioning when something falls short of the name it carries. The soulless cannot understand this of course, they only perceive "complaining".

>Fortune's Weave is full of pointless busywork
>Belmont's Curse is painfully mid
>There is evidence that the Ocarina of Time remake is simplifying puzzles
These were the only three games I was excited to play this year. Just let GTAVI have the fucking GOTY award. I don't care.

Wow they REALLY do not want to acknowledge the Wii U

I have mixed opinions on Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave myself but I think it’s very telling how often the defense of it and its price isn’t about how high quality it is, it’s about how it’s LONG. As if being LONG is an inherent indicator of worth and never a criticism.

Is there actually any tangible cons to mapping items out to buttons like this or did we genuinely lose something perfect in favor of the BOTW item wheel for all of eternity
Zelda games have ALWAYS been piss easy post Zelda 2. This is genuinely fucking insane that people are struggling with one of the easiest franchises ever. Difficulty is not why these games are beloved. These changes are baffling.
