Plaid Cymru lectures Wales about equality. Its record on women tells a rather different story.
2023: its own review exposed a toxic culture of misogyny, harassment and bullying.
2024: unlawful discrimination against women’s rights charity FiLiA.
2026: Safa Elhassan quits the Women’s and Girls’ Rights Cross-Party Group, the first of its kind in the Senedd (involving organisations including @WRNWales and @MerchedCymru) with local media reporting allegations that male Plaid staffers bullied her into withdrawing.
Three years. Same disturbing theme: misogyny, discrimination and alleged bullying when women’s sex-based rights become politically inconvenient.
Plaid is now the party of government. The sex-based rights of half its electorate are neither optional nor negotiable.
And my scrutiny won’t be optional, either.
Grooming gangs- I asked the Councel General if the Welsh Government has the legal power to hold its own inquiry into how devolved services failed women and children in Wales 🏴

Today, we remember the 116 children and 28 adults who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.
We remember the families, the community, and all those whose lives were changed forever.
They will never be forgotten.
Many thanks to Ifan, Wales Director for the Federation of Master Builders and to Owain, founder & Director of Bancs, for inviting me on site earlier today in Caswell. We discussed all things planning, building and apprenticeships.
SME’s should be playing a big part in our home 🏡 building programme. They provide local jobs and train our next generation of tradespeople. Identifying ways in which we can help this industry and work with them is extremely important, not only for policy making but for our economy and future.

Yesterday, Steve and I spent the morning at Morriston Hospital with representatives from the Health board, including the Chair, the Chief Executive and members of staff. We toured the emergency department from first point of contact at the Ambulance bay right through to discharge.
Many thanks to the team for showing us around and providing this forum for an open discussion. We look forward to working with the board in both a positive way but whilst ensuring we hold them to account on their management.

🚨 BREAKING: Birmingham Reform UK councillor was sent suspected asbestos package in the post.
• Dr Charlie Latchford, the Reform UK councillor for Longbridge and West Heath, reported receiving a package containing suspected asbestos on Thursday.
• He said the material was deliberately packaged in a way that would cause maximum exposure to whoever opened it.
• Police and fire crews attended the scene, after which Latchford was stripped, isolated outside and his road was quarantined.
• The councillor stated that the package will be traced and that no political or personal disagreement justifies putting someone’s health or life at risk.
• West Midlands Police treated the incident under Operation Ford and an ambulance was arranged.
