just read this in an investor update "older engineers who graduated from college pre-GPT are actually the best-suited for our purposes. They have fundamental programming ability that's lost amongst most of the current-gen." the AI-induced thinking/skills decay has begun wild

Personally know someone who games this in college by making a fake LinkedIn as a VP at Goldman Sachs He would DM analysts and associates at other banks with the fake intention of chit chatting and getting to know them After a few messages, would end up referring his actual self by disguising it as an “ambitious college student you should really speak with” Guy ended up landing almost 200+ networking calls with bankers by doing this alone Funniest part is that he ended up landing at Goldman Sachs and is actually a VP there today
Only two of these people work at Flexport. Is there no verification at all @linkedin? You charge us too much money to then also be a cesspool of fraud against our brand.

TIL the company I worked for over six years ago continues to allocate a LinkedIn Recruiter license to me. Yep, you know which license, the expensive one.

We got 570 Data Analyst applications in 3 days, for a Data Analyst role outside Paris. Engineering schools still think we’re in a shortage. That’s… some interesting data.

Gems you can find in Valve's new employees handbook (h/t @HungLee). That must be a one-in-a-lifetime adventure to work in such a singular environment. Being open about it by publishing their employee handbook also means they avoid casting errors when hiring. That's enlightening.

Here's how we increased new hire applications by more than 30% after telling people not to join our company. The origin story of “Don’t Work at Anduril.” 🧵1/10

I've tried multiple methods to keep track of to-dos. After a few years I've concluded that there is nothing more useful than these 2:
Everyone should make a to-do list app (reply with yours)

I'd still code one to-do list app just for fun in my spare time now that Sahil dropped a tutorial. One more project I'm adding to my to-do list 👉👈
