I saw Prince there about a year before he passed so I'm probably never going to another show at Warner, cuz what could possibly top that? (And Stevie came out during the encore!)
Warner Theater is such a great transit-accessible venue. Same block as Metro Center - show ended at 11:30p last night and still got home on Metro to relieve babysitter with time to spare before her midnight curfew. D10, D5X, D34 busses right there too

Not to hype a big brand too much but @SierraNevada has some really tasty low-ABV beers. Their Mellow Little Thing Hazy IPA (4.5), Pils (4.7) and Go-Two IPA (2.8) have been among my go-to's this year, no pun intended, this year. The Pils especially has been my absolute favorite.

Wait, you didn't have Buffalo & Bergen or Bullfrog? Also, that's a ton of alliteration.
I ranked DC bagel shops earlier this year. Then I heard from readers taking me to task for some places I missed. So I took the top three suggestions - Brooklyn Bagel, Buffalo & Bergen, and Bullfrog Bagels - and added them to the survey. Link below! rickeatsdc.com/150757-2/

Corn Flakes and Raisin Bran. Because those were my dad's two favorite cereals and he'd mix them together.
When you think of your dad, what food pops into your mind first ?? 🤔

2nd food that comes to mind is smoked turkey. Because the moment my dad bought a smoker and perfected his recipe it was wrap. He'd be back there smoking turkeys for family members, for neighbors, for the community raffle! That man was the turkey master.

😂 CLASSIC! Laura Loomer interrupts a House hearing, and Congressman Billy Long responds with FAKE AUCTION CALLS to drown her out. ABSOLUTE GOLD. 🤣🤣

Not the biggest fan of the person you're referring to but I think his point was that because of Eebee's, other new bars are going to try to dub themselves as "neighborhood bars" from a marketing standpoint. I think. (Ugh, how am I defending him?)

Just say YOU don't like beer. It's okay.
Unpopular opinion; No one - literally not a soul - actually enjoys the taste of beer. Not a single human. Those who claim to enjoy beer, don’t actually. It’s really just a social ritual, a form of self deception… the impact of decades of stacked marketing to convince you that beer is anything but an alcohol delivery mechanism. You can enjoy getting sloshed. You can enjoy the social liberation that alcohol offers. You can enjoy the party. But don’t act like you actually like the taste of beer. You don’t. You might think you do. But you don’t. Because it tastes like it looks: bitter dehydrated piss, with bubbles. In the case of Guinness, like diarrhea, with bubbles. And you know it.

This weather is great but it means the mosquitoes are sticking around. Can we get a week of below 50 degree weather so they can die already?

"Neighborhood bars" are what many of y'all have been calling dive bars this whole time.

Question: Do I like this negroni that I made in which I swapped out vermouth and replaced it with red wine more? I think so?

So I already knew that 2027 was going to be a double milestone year for me personally and professionally. I turn 50 in February and this will be my 20th year in Specialty Coffee. However...

Does this mean I want to open a cafe? Possibly, but not necessarily. I genuinely have no idea what the next step is. For all I know I could step away from the industry altogether, not to brag but my career has been pretty exemplary.

I'm not gonna sit here and share my resume but let's just say I've made a lot of contributions across the board both here in DC and overseas in Sweden. And as I look at DC I think there's still a lot of room for growth and I'd like to continue to be a part of that somehow.
