New post!
At the risk of being completely obscure, I could say that it's about being about. Which is true, but it's also me telling a cracking good story which would make a first-rate film.

This is an extraordinary advertisement because it's effectively spending 60 seconds to tell us how technology is ruining our lives.
Incidentally, it fails to point out that not only is French toast not toast, but Canadian bacon is not technically bacon.
Interesting LRB article reviewing a book on the justifications for slavery in the 17th and 18th centuries (link below).
The basic point is that the English couldn't really justify it, but just quietly did it anyway, out of sight and out of mind.
Many such cases?
Equally, the puritans and evangelicals who campaigned (and campaign) about slavery, child prostitution, bear-baiting, abortion, alcohol, gambling, sexual immorality and so on were (and are) regarded as ridiculous kill-joys. (That's a deliberately mixed list.)

I've been to Renoir & Love at the National Gallery, hence the weather-appropriate picture. I have 3 observations.
1) Lovely. Only a poseur would deny that Renoir is charming.
2) Busy. So many people. Too many.
3) Renoir should stick to ladies wearing clothes and avoid the nudes.

This might be true of Facebook or Instagram but it's absolutely not true of X. An impartial observer would look at very few of our accounts and think, "Yep. This person is doing fine."
