From Vlad the Impaler to Berlioz's witches, perhaps the most terrifying thing isn't death, ghosts, or vampires. It's what the human imagination can do with love, fear, and a little orchestration. #halloween #musicians @KateStantonSing

Happy 18th Birthday to my dearest and most beloved dog Mathilda-the best girlfriend I’ve ever had. 💙💙💙
I grew up with this instrumental arrangement by Paul Mauriat Love is Blue. Composed by the French composer André Popp. It did cultivate my taste for beautiful long melodies. What do you consider a beautiful melody and why? #music #musicartist

What a fun topic we’ve picked, @KateStantonSing ! I’m sincerely looking forward to this. These queens are some of the most fascinating women in history.
My happy old trio: Mathilda (standing) Betsy (tan) and Paris (overly emotional). So grateful to have them.

Remembering Dolly.
Born in a one-room cabin, one of twelve children. She never stopped writing. Notebooks by the bed, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, because a song might arrive anywhere and she was not going to miss it.
And she gave it away. The Imagination Library started because her father never learned to read, and she called it one of the things she was proudest of in her whole career. Not the records. The books.
Courage, work, and kindness, in one person, for sixty years.
She wrote "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" in the same day. The same day.
Trying to choose between these two wall colors for the piano backdrop accent wall. Olive or dusty blue?
I grew up in Chisinau, Moldova in the 80 with The Fruit Stall by Frans Snyders on the kitchen wall. The painting offered such a contrast to the gray concrete architecture, monotonous state-store shelves, and persistent shortages of fresh or luxury goods. #art
