When I went to Israel in 1990 and really started (trying to) understand its electoral system, I was absolutely stunned at how nuts it was. It remains nuts (even with the increase in the threshold to win seats). One good thing a grand coalition could do would be serious reform.

Here’s a criticism of Israel that can’t be directed at its neighbors: its electoral system shows why a pure proportional representation system is so flawed.
