For those dunking on the daily showering advice, it’s actually important for organizations like @americanmoment to help socialize young adults and teach them the ropes of life in Washington. If that means some of the simple stuff that we might take for granted, great. 1/2

In my recent piece I discuss why Anthropic’s “safety” bill is thinly veiled regulatory capture.
Under Anthropic’s AI bill, Washington couldn’t step in unless a model threatened 50+ people or $1B in damage. One life is enough.
@RWalkerFW on why this “safety” bill is really regulatory capture.

This is what the Data Center Revolt looked like in town after town. Humans First standing alongside Americans in their fight against Big Tech.
They made their voices heard and made it clear that the power is in We the People.
The bus is parked. The fight isn’t.
Join us in putting Humans First!

A striking contrast on the streets of Paris: A couple sits sipping drinks at an outdoor café as flames burn just steps away.
The moment was captured Saturday near the Arc de Triomphe, on the outskirts of rioting that erupted during demonstrations over rising prices, inequality and public spending.
Video shows the pair continuing their conversation as a burning trash bin lights up the background.

Same Saturday night. Two very different Americas.
In DC, the elite were sipping cocktails and celebrating the AI and data center boom.
At the exact same time in Wakarusa, Kansas, the road was too muddy from the storms for our bus to reach the farm, so people came from all over and met us on the side of the road to fight for their land, water, electricity and communities.
But please, Heartland peasants… stop complaining. You’re ruining the party.

My experience as Intel Chairman taught me the time to stop a crisis is yesterday. The first role of our government is to keep us safe. Following Dario Amodei’s warning, I believe we must slow down development of AI in order to allow the government and its partners to catch up and put stricter protocols and guardrails in place to protect us from the rapid advancements we’ve seen.
In the Senate, I will make it a top priority to pass the national security framework we need on AI.

Congress needs to convene a special session on AI and what the future of the U.S. looks like. There are very real impacts to society as we know it. Partisan politics aside, there are massive implications of a race towards super intelligence. This is not a doomer post, as some of the advancements will greatly impact access to healthcare, targeted treatments, increase in safer food production etc… but not enough of Congress is focusing on this. Our first priority is protecting ALL Americans. To include data, privacy, and physical safety. We MUST be ready. This is happening whether or not we want it to.

Thank you for a reasoned approach to this and not one bought and paid for by the same big tech folks who deplatformed the President and fought for Fauci's COVID narrative.
