Prime Minister @Mohamedshia met at his residence in London, a delegation from the @EBRD, headed by the bank’s President, @OdileRenaud.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the bank members’ approval of Iraq’s accession in October of last year. He highlighted the importance of partnership with the EBRD, particularly as it involves collaboration across multiple sectors that the government has prioritized in its program.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has several key projects where the bank’s financing could play a significant role, particularly in vital infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public transportation, especially in conflict-affected areas. He also highlighted the request for technical assistance from the bank to enhance and develop Iraq’s banking sector. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of the bank’s president visiting Iraq to explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
