This morning was a moment I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Today, I had the honor of delivering my final State of the City Address as Mayor of the @CityofDeltonaFL . Standing before our community and reflecting on nearly four years of service brought a wave of emotions, gratitude, and memories that words can hardly describe.
When I first took office, I made a commitment to put our residents first, fight for our city’s future, and leave Deltona better than I found it. Looking back at how far we’ve come, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.
There have been victories, challenges, difficult decisions, and countless blessings along the way. Through it all, my faith in God, the love of my family, and my commitment to the people of Deltona have remained my foundation.
While this may have been my last State of the City Address as Mayor, my love for Deltona and my commitment to our community will never end.
I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to the Deltona & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a wonderful event and for the tremendous support throughout my time as Mayor. Your dedication to our business community, your partnership with the City, and your continued commitment to Deltona’s growth and success have meant more than you know. I am truly grateful for everything you have done to make this occasion so special and memorable.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, THANK YOU! Serving as your Mayor has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
📺 I encourage everyone to watch my full 2026 State of the City Address! I shared our accomplishments, reflected on our journey, and spoke about the bright future that lies ahead for our city.

MCSI's Attainable Housing Toolkit is for you: For local leaders, America’s #housing challenge isn’t an abstract national statistic. It is a #teacher commuting an hour to work, a #policeofficer unable to buy a home in the community he protects, a young #family delaying
homeownership, and an employer struggling to recruit workers. strongcommunitysolutions.org…

On behalf of our residents, we continue to ask questions about the large increases in fire truck costs and lead times. I appreciate the support we’ve received from Senators Jim Banks and Elizabeth Warren.

Mayors don’t get bogged down in national talking points, we deal with real challenges everyday. @SueFinkam has been tireless in her pursuit of exposing this critical issue facing every city across America. Public safety is priority #1 for any mayor, but we have major budget constraints, and this issue is a major contributor. Thanks to @Jim_Banks for his tireless effort in helping us tackle this issue.

At our recent 2026 Indiana Fall National Conference, we had the privilege of having some of the @smoking_pastor's #brisket. It is most definitely 🏆 level smoked meat.
Congratulations to Pastor Jordan Davis on winning the World Food Championships as the 2026 World Barbecue Champion!!! 🏆 Carmel is so very proud!
Here’s hoping this win brings even more support to this wonderful mission. Through The Smoking Pastor Project, he and his volunteers prepare and donate quality meals to local food pantries, serving neighbors in need with dignity and care. I love this quote from him: “Whether we’re serving world-class judges or someone walking into a food pantry, the standard doesn’t change.” ❤️

Common Grounds conversation on domestic violence matters…Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared why the initial response is key to breaking the cycle. Answering the call builds trust, connects a victim to resources and just might be the opportunity to break the cycle of domestic violence.
