It was another wonderful GVXC Alumni run today. Maybe our best turnout ever. We had alumni going back to ‘05 and ‘08, along with a group of current, and maybe even future Vikings runners! Great to see how the grads are doing and share classic stories and memories! 💙GVXC💙

Team scavenger hunt around town today. Always a fun way to spice up a practice. Even ran into former coach Bob Thomson who was out enjoying a coffee with family. We missed @MayorBurns but still got our City Hall picture with former GVXC coach @BenMcCready1

Theme Thursday started of strong this season with cutoff day! It was also great to have The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Coach Bob Thomson come by for practice today. He has been around the sport of XC for over 40 years and still is a passionate supporter of the team. GVXC💙

Nelly! As fast as he was (and he was really fast) he was an even better person and teammate with a positive spirit that made everyone better around him. He still has the 2nd fastest 3 mile XC time - 14:41 and holds the 4x8 (7:45) and 1600m (4:07) school records.

An interview from last night gave me a great quote from Liam Newhart, the Boys race winner. "I was in a lot of discomfort, but I knew I could push it harder. Racing is about working through discomfort but also causing discomfort for others in the race." SO TRUE!
