Best wishes to Sofia Borter this Saturday at the State meet. She has qualified as an individual all 4 years, which is a remarkable achievement. Her current PR of 17:03 ranks her 5th all time in GVXC history! 🔥🔥🔥 @GHS_ILathletics

Congrats to Senior Charlie Marsh on earning Worker of the Week! This was his first year of XC and he has made a positive impact on the team. He finished the season with a big PR at conference!

Jasper Huynh has been on fire of late running PR’s and continuing to be a good teammate. For those reasons, he was named Worker of the Week!

Today was the 10 min plank challenge and we had 7 boys accomplish this feat! It’s impressive to see their physical and mental strength to push through the discomfort. Sr. Mack Biesk has done this all 4 years! 2 freshmen added their name to the board as well!

Great to see our GVXC getting so involved with so many events going on. Friday they helped host, pace, and hype up the 4th & 5th grade milers. Sunday they volunteered at the Chicago Marathon handing out Gatorade to the finishers.

Congrats to Freshmen Christopher Tee on being the Worker of the Week! He has embraced high school XC, worked consistently at practice, and enjoyed the experience. He’s also PR’d in 4 of 5 races this year! Let’s gooo!

Shout out to Sophomore Dylan Edling for earning worker of the week! He may not say much in practice, but his efforts in practice speak volumes! He’s been extremely consistent and dedicated every week!

Congrats to Sophomore Griffin Poterek on earning the Worker of the Week! He had a big breakthrough this past weekend at Peoria and is ready for more.

Great to see our athletes volunteering in the community at a local race! Wonderful to have them help out and be a part of the local running community.

BIG day for the teams down in Peoria at the historic Detweiller Park! Early bus times…no problem. Long bus ride…no problem. Races with 600+ runners…let’s go!! Many PRs and SBs!

First ever theme Alumni tribute day today. This one honored Tony Ross a ‘23 grad. No sleeves, no problem.

Freshman Murphy Hall is your Worker of the Week this week. He’s had a wonderful start to the season and has been giving his best every day at practice. As a result, he has also PR’d the last 2 weekends and helped the FS team place 2nd!

Great to have so many teachers come out and cheer on our XC runners this morning as part of Teacher Appreciation. Blessed to have their support in the classroom snd beyond.
