👇🏻 is a crisis. Work shy young people become unemployable if not nipped in the bud. Anyone fit to work but doesn’t, should have benefits cut until they receive nothing. Welfare is funded by the tax payer, the tax payer shouldn’t be funding bone idle laziness.
CAN WORK - WON’T WORK
The proportion of healthy young jobless Scots who don’t want to work has hit a record high
The number of fit workshy youths nearly doubled in a year.
Highest since the pandemic. Second highest on record.

.@Conservatives had a very strong week with several by-election wins indicating the polling over the last few weeks is correct. Reform will be nervous so how long before snakes like Jenrick or Braverman start to make moves on Farage as they continue to lose support?

This week as your Cllr 🗓️
Two significant announcements for Friockheim this week. Angus Medical Group is progressing plans for a new GP practice and specialist health centre at the former surgery. I also shared positive news on Friockheim Hub, with discussions underway to bring it back into use. Nothing is finalised, but continued community use looks increasingly possible.
Many of you have asked about Arbroath Bus Station ahead of winter. Plans include reopening the waiting room following improvements to flooring, heating, seating and decoration, alongside toilet upgrades. I’ve asked officers for a reopening date and updates on passenger information. I’ll share their response.
I’ve also been contacted about the planned winter closure of the West Links toilets. With Parkruns and other activities continuing, I believe these facilities should remain open year-round. I’m working with our officers to explore the options and will update residents as soon as I know more.
Residents remain concerned about rats at Keptie Pond, particularly around Nolt Loan Road. Our teams have identified problem areas, installed underground rat boxes and monitored activity, while reviewing vegetation. Following further reports, I’ve escalated the matter again and asked what additional action is needed.
On street lighting, operatives made several visits and SSEN checked the electricity supply, but the intermittent fault couldn’t be identified. If the flashing returns, please report it while it’s happening. Lighting in the car park behind Hawthorn Place is privately managed and is being referred back to Hillcrest.
If you spot a pothole, broken light, damaged sign or other council issue, please use Report It first. Keep the reference number sent by email. If there’s no progress after two weeks, send it to me and I’ll follow up.
What would you like me to focus on next? 👇

Last night was the Conservatives’ best in a long time: four wins from five contests, three of them gains.
That takes them to 29 wins since May’s local elections, more than any other party (Reform 26, Labour 26, Lib Dems 24).
Brilliant results for @Conservatives but even more delighted to see the continued collapse of the antisemitic extremist left green vote.
Hugging grandparents bad, allowing children to witness men dressed up as dogs and performing sex acts on each other at gay pride events totally fine 🤯. We are ruining children’s future due to ideology and indoctrination.

J.K.Rowling does not hate trans people, She does not want me dead. ☠️
We follow each other because of a mutual recognition that transgender ideology is a disease destroying women and children.
She has no personal animus towards any LGBT
I wrote a new piece about women’s rights and whether or not I want trans people dead. (Spoiler: I don’t)👇

Mohammed Yousaf is a solicitor in Bradford.
He was caught on camera offering to help people fraudulently avoid fines for employing illegal workers.
He said he does it "all the time".
I've written to the Solicitors Regulator calling for him to be struck off.

Finally. Labour spent 2 years faffing about to make a decision which Conservatives had already approved 2 years ago.
If they’d done this in the summer we’d have had that gas heating British homes this Christmas.
An unnecessary waste of time and money by a party that puts its own interest above the country’s.
UK government gives go-ahead for gas production from Jackdaw field in North Sea bbc.in/4yzB0mv
Great news to wake up to but now get Rosebank approved too. I am a huge advocate of renewables, we have invested heavily on the farm but oil and gas provides energy security and job security to hundreds of thousands of British workers plus many more indirect jobs.
A great victory for Scottish jobs, energy security and common sense👇

Andrew’s a friend, but I’ll say what I would say to anyone else.
Stand down from the Assembly for integrity’s sake.
Like me, Andrew’s a list member. That means Londoners didn’t vote for us, they literally voted ‘Conservative’. Let the next Conservative on the list step up.
Reform have short memories. They were happy to take on invisible Greame Simpson, a Tory list MSP who defected mid-term to Reform. Why didn’t they refuse his defection? You can’t have it both ways.
