In my 35 years as an Air Traffic Controller, I have heard countless radio transmissions, including emergency calls. But listening to the recording of the Mayday call from this tragic flight in Florida was one of the most painful and heartbreaking moments I have ever experienced.
Behind every Mayday call is a human being fighting for survival, a voice desperately hoping to make it home.
As Air Traffic Controllers, we are trained to remain calm, focused, and professional during emergencies. But beneath our headsets and behind our radar screens, we are human too. And sometimes, a voice over the frequency touches our hearts in ways that words cannot describe.
Today, my heart is heavy.
My deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragedy.
May all those who lost their lives rest in eternal peace. 🕊️

This Florida plane crash has got me torn up. As a pilot and a human being I am so incredibly sorry to everyone that’s effected by this. There is so much I would like to say but this isn’t the time. I wish more people on here would keep their thoughts to themselves. It’s devastating enough without having hatful things being said.

Homeless at 15.
A football coach saw something in me I didn’t know I had— POTENTIAL.
I went from sitting on the bench to becoming First Team All-State and captain of an undefeated team.
I went from never winning a wrestling match to never losing one.
I went from straight F’s to straight A’s, a Cornell University education, and the opportunity to keep playing the game I loved — FOOTBALL.
It was the first team in my life I had set any goals for myself because it was the first time in my life I had someone I wanted to make proud.
It didn’t take a village. It just took ONE MAN who gave a damn about me and that man changed the trajectory of my life.
And that’s exactly why the JEFF RUBY FOUNDATION exists.

Like Haley Stevens, I am a lifelong Democrat from Michigan, and I must reluctantly endorse Mike Rogers because Abdul is, well, an islamist communist who hates America. As a Democrat, I would normally like all those things, but the fact that he’s so short turned me against him.
