Riot delayed private replays to 26.21 to find a fix for coaches and creators. Here's one: daily cap per account + in-client playback with Vanguard + verified API access for pros. Stop the scraping, not the community.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

Early Neuralink speech restoration data:
We are enabling speech to text and voice at conversational rates in participants with ALS. One participant achieved 75 WPM at 5.8% WER on a 125k-word vocabulary in their first week.
Ver cosas así me alegra el día.
🚨 Neuralink just delivered one of its most emotional breakthroughs yet
Terry, diagnosed with ALS in 2024, is now speaking again using only his thoughts.
The implant translates brain signals into words, with Grok Voice restoring his own natural voice.
Watching him hear himself speak again is incredibly powerful.
This is what restoring human connection looks like. Truly life-changing. As found.

Es inaceptable que, a día de hoy, sigan ocurriendo cosas como estas.

First, thank you for such a thoughtful and well said post, this is what makes every single engagement a Dev has mean so much to them and the community.
And that’s what Drew set out to do…to get League back to our roots and engage with players directly and show up consistently. To be honest, we had a void in that area for a little bit and the community felt that and knew it too, he wanted to help fill that void. Does that mean he always gets it right, no, and he’d be the first one to say that, but he shows the fuck up time and time again. And that’s taxing it takes a toll, but the passion for players and for League is why he and a number of other Devs show up the way they do for the community.
Is it part of their “job” not in the JD but it’s what’s always made Riot/League different than any other developer and it always will be. Because even with hate and rhetoric from folks who would only ever say these things on a social media platform Devs will continue to show up for players. @RiotMeddler , @RiotPabro , August, MLH, Eduardo, Ezra, Chris Roberts, Mireles and countless others are always engaging and making content on their own time to provide those connection point for players.
It’s in our DNA because you all have shown it’s what you all love about League through the ups and downs. So will every engagement be perfect, no, but we learn, we adjust and we move forward together.
So, NO, this type of hate on social media doesn’t represent the collective community and never will, and it’s why Devs continue to show up for the community in ways that are authentic to them.
Thank you again for the kind words, I know they mean a lot to a lot of folks
What people don't understand is that Drew decided to come on twitter entirely on his own, it was never a part of his job - he just wanted to try and understand the community better and give people some more knowledge into what Riot's doing/thinking about the game
His account was the only reason that for months players actually had another option besides spamming messages to Blitzcrank Bot in support, and that community problems could be voiced to Riot much more easily (take the state of FlexQ and bought accounts/boosters, which are way better than they used to be)
But as a community, what did we show him? Not too much outside of the fact that we're full of drooling losers who are willing to literally fabricate information if they can dunk on someone for a few likes. They accused Drew of dunking on people when what they were doing was infinitely worse (Riot Zac XD). Would I agree with everything Drew said/did? No, but he's also human. And when you're literally using AI to make up images to accuse them of being a pedophile, constantly bringing up their religion and use that as an insult, creating hate thread after hate thread, and so much more, you're not helping improve the situation for ANYONE, and I honestly wouldn't blame him if he just decided to dip and never come back.
I can't say much more than it's just straight up embarrassing. Every time someone from Riot steps up to be a voice to the community, someone who we can actually reach relatively easily, we fuck it up. Every. Single. Time. We let the worst in the community have the loudest voices and ruin the experience not only for us, but for the Rioters as well, giving them realistically zero reason to continue going out of their way to help, and we inevitably end up back at square one.
We keep complaining about League having so many issues (and I agree), yet for some reason every time we have a decent path toward fixing them we just nuke it for a few laughs. It's honestly disturbing to see.

Two weeks ago I wrote that the problem with replays was volume, not access: a coach watches 20 games a week, a scraper downloads 20,000. Glad to see Riot went with a rate limit instead of fully private replays. Scrapers stop being profitable and coaches don't even notice.
