He died today, 1,087 years ago. 🕯️
The first king of all England. 👑
Alfred's grandson. 🛡️
927: he marched on York and the Vikings ran. ⚔️
937: Brunanburh. Five kings and seven earls dead. 🩸
Two years later he was gone. No children. 🍂
What he left us was our country. 🏴
We call his grandfather Great. We should call both of them Great. 🙏

Two thousand British sailors died doing it. 🪦

I'm very pleased that the Government has launched a consultation on the CO2 stunning of pigs.
This is a very serious animal welfare issue that needs to be addressed, and I'm looking forward to working with experts and stakeholders to ensure we take action on this.

Keep sharing and keep informing people that their government wants to make them sick and viotate their human right to bodily autonomy, by adding a drug to their food.
Another important landmark.

Sweden is officially ditching mRNA vaccines, and they are not hiding their reasons for doing so.

Misleading. Image text is from a Dutch group (Artsen Collectief), not a Swedish source. Sweden’s regions chose Sanofi’s Nuvaxovid as sole supplier for the 2027/2028 campaign only.
There has been no mRNA ban; Public Health Agency says 2026/2027 mainly uses mRNA Comirnaty.

Wheat flour is the main culprit, but I am still shocked that of all supermarkets @marksandspencer has it in every single flour laden product, white, brown and wholemeal. Check out all their Christmas goodies, if containing Folic Acid, put it back on the shelves. Why isn't the supermarket defending it's customer's health?

In 2014, 888,246 ceramic poppies were arranged around the Tower of London to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
Each one represented a British or Commonwealth service person who lost their life in the conflict, a profoundly moving and beautiful tribute.
We will remember them.

Has your life improved in the last 100 days? In any way?
Have your bills gone down? Do you feel richer? Safer? Has your local community improved at all?
For the average person, the answer is a resounding NO.
Burnham is making tweaks as broken Britain slides further into terminal decline.
He’s a talker, not a doer. He hasn’t changed the country one bit so far, and isn’t going to.
We need fundamental change - and that's what I will bring.
In our first 100 days, we will:
Put the Royal Navy in the Channel and stop the boats forever.
Begin the mass exit of over 1 million people who illegally entered Britain.
We will make it impossible to live here illegally, so many will leave voluntarily. But, make no mistake, the deportation of those who don’t will be enforced.
We will increase your tax-free personal allowance from £12,570 to £15,000 to keep money in your pocket.
We’ll reduce your annual energy bills by £250.
We’ll charge NO interest on loans for nursing students, lift the cap on medical school places and cut student loan issuance by 20%.
If my ministers fail to deliver, I'll sack them. Simple as.
The stakes have never been higher. It's time we have a government that acts like it.

🇬🇧🌺 SIX SMALL STAMPS. ONE POWERFUL MESSAGE. THEIR SACRIFICE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. 🌺🇬🇧
Royal Mail has unveiled six stunning new stamps, and behind every design is a story of courage, sacrifice and remembrance.
These aren't just stamps. They're miniature tributes to the men and women who served our country, fought for our freedom and, in so many cases, never returned home. 🇬🇧
From the trenches of the First World War to the battlefields of the Second, and the generations who have served in conflicts since, this collection carries a message that must never fade.
🌺 What makes these stamps even more special?
The artwork was created by Matthew Cook, a military veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Someone who understands the meaning of service, sacrifice and remembrance firsthand.
📮 The six First Class stamps will be released on 11 November 2026, Armistice Day.
A beautiful and fitting tribute from Royal Mail, ensuring that the stories of those who served continue to be remembered and passed on to future generations.
❤️ Because remembrance isn't just about looking back. It's about making sure we never forget.
🇬🇧 WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. 🇬🇧
🌺 LEST WE FORGET. 🌺 – at Streetly, England

Did you know that Folic Acid was mandated to be added to Flour without a parliamentary vote using secondary legislation?
Not one MP raised the point at the time in order to introduce a 'prayer motion' to try and halt it?
Since then only Rupert Lowe has come out and backed a petition by Dr Clare Craig which is another method to halt the process.

It is sheer lunacy that there are debates over the Poppy.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

King Charles is on his way to the Caribbean.
During his tour there must be NO MENTION of reparations for slavery.
Slavery happened hundreds of years ago and NO ONE living in Britain now has anything to do with it.
Britain was the country leading the fight for the abolition of slavery.
The Royal Navy spent years chasing down slave ships and lost hundreds of lives in the operation.
Between 1800 and 1860, the Royal Navy seized 1,600 slave ships and freed 150,000 slaves, losing more than 1,500 sailors in the process.
Britain has NOTHING to apologise for, indeed we should be immensely proud of what we did, and WE should be the ones getting thanks for what we did.

What people like Miriam Cates, the pensioner hater, need to know are these facts:
In the 1960s, most pension schemes legally barred married women and part time workers from joining a private pension scheme.
In the 1970s, private pension provision was largely restricted to public sector jobs.
During these decades, many women opted for or were put on the reduced national insurance stamp meaning they'd get a smaller state pension than their husbands. Women didn't routinely have access to financial advice like they do now. They trusted the government and their husbands to take care of them.
You may not like this. You may think it's unfair or women were daft to accept this. But that's how it was. Back then. Equality didn't exist. And you can't change attitudes and history. So no. Women couldn't have made better provision for their old age.
