Lindsay even told her father that it seemed fake. She also questioned how the woman had obtained her personal cell phone number. But Lindsay went to the showing anyway. The property was located at 1702 De Sousa Place in Saanich, a newly built home on a quiet cul-de-sac that had reportedly sat empty for more than a year. The appointment was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Two witnesses saw Lindsay greet the couple at the front door. A tall man with dark hair. A blonde woman wearing a distinctive red-and-black patterned dress. Lindsay shook their hands. Then the three went inside. Investigators believe the attack happened within minutes. Between approximately 5:38 and 5:41 p.m., Lindsay was murdered inside the house. During that time, her phone accidentally called a friend. The call went to voicemail. There were no clear words—only muffled sounds. Around 6:00 p.m., her boyfriend, Jason Zailo, arrived. The front door was locked. He could see Lindsay’s shoes inside the foyer.
