ALT We are very frustrated to read in The Yorkshire Post that a potentially crucial document was not made available to the public, local councillors and the planning panel for the planning application to build a new building on the Caroline Street car park in Saltaire. Residents and councillors alike rely on a full and comprehensive set of documents being provided by Bradford Council to enable them to come to a view on whether a planning application is beneficial or not. In this case it appears that, for reasons not yet explained, a report written by Unesco adviser the International Council on Monuments and Sites (Icomos) was not put in the public domain. This report may have made a difference to the decision that the planning committee came to when it granted planning permission for the new Shipley College building earlier this year. Bradford Council need to provide a full explanation as to why this document was not made available. We have written to Bradford Council for a response
