ZJX 1.30.0 against 1.29.7, on five public corpora: every compact and fast archive came out smaller and packed faster, and fast and ultrafast archives restore faster. The numbers for each mode are below.

Slopbrake 0.2.9 is out: our open-source guardrails for coding agents. New this week, a check that catches an agent lowering the bar instead of fixing what the bar caught. It also reads through rtk, a Bash output filter for Claude Code. One post for each below.

Sley runs in your browser now. Write typed Python and the released Sley 2.1.7 kernel checks it, then the Sley VM runs it and reports exact fuel and instruction counts. Nothing to install. sleylang.org/playground

Sley, the language we build for AI agents, now runs in a browser tab.

The highlight of my week was getting smoked by an M3 at a stoplight.

My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will: 1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate. 2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority. 3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority. This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word. All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

I’ve got a funny feeling that the Nothing ever happens bros are about to get their cheeks split next week. It’s here.

The collapse of the stock market should be the #1 trending topic. Instead, it is " Happy Halloween " Americans have misplaced priorities. This is how the elites get away with robbery. Smoke and mirrors.

How is EVERY SINGLE STOCK MARKETcrashing at the same exact time? That isn't organic selling, it’s PURE manipulation. We all know whats going on but no one wants to say it out loud...

The gas in party balloons is now officially a critical material for the AI race. The Energy Department added helium to its critical materials list. Chipmaking depends on it, and in many of those uses nothing can replace it. The notice published this week ties the decision directly to America's AI Action Plan. The U.S. has plenty of helium underground. What it's short on is refining capacity, and the permits to build more move slowly.

BREAKING: Intel, $INTC, extends losses to -30% on the day, now on track for its biggest decline on record. Not even the Dot-Com bubble or 1970s saw a decline in $INTC like this.

Nvidia is investing $3 billion in Meta. Meta is raising $95 billion to build AI infrastructure. AI infrastructure runs on Nvidia chips. So Nvidia hands Meta $3 billion, and Meta hands it right back to Nvidia. Who's actually paying for all of this at the end of the chain?

Quick super important reminder: All the crap you see happening around the world - protests in France, other European countries, now Indonesia, other places, it's all noise. None of this matters in the grand scheme of things. Even short term. The only thing that really matters is AI progress. The fact that we know there is no moat, that more compute = bigger breakthroughs in mathematics and physics, and soon in biology, medicine, materials science, engineering, and anti aging progress. The trend is crystal clear. This isn't some science fiction prediction anymore. We're being presented with new data and evidence almost every hour. Acceleration is real. Doom and gloom grifter media are doing their job, manipulating you into believing everything is getting worse. In reality, these are the best times in human history. Nothing else even comes close. 100s of years of scientific and technological progress in a single year may actually become possible (thanks to AI) The concept of a country of geniuses in a data center is already becoming a reality. Soon, we'll have 10x more compute, more AI geniuses, more discoveries, and even faster progress. And this is just the beginning. ***Ignore the noise. Focus on the acceleration.****

AI will extend our lives, not extinguish it.
this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.

Bill Gates is warning that AI gives companies a simple incentive: "hire the robot, fire the human." Microsoft, the company he co-founded, just offered buyouts to about 60,000 employees to cut costs while it keeps pouring money into AI data centers.
