I think that this sort of statement, from a U.K. university @uniofleicester is unprecedented.

A year ago, the UCP stripped teachers of their charter rights. Teachers fighting for Public Education. Fighting for better working & learning conditions.
Announcing this $$$ for private schools seems like another attack on public schools & teachers.

People complain about funding affordable housing while happily funding the consequences of not having it.
Let that sink in.

So uh let me get this straight.. On July 7th @Rogers guts Calgary's only News & Traffic station since 2006, along with 6 other stations across Canada.. The day before (July 6th) rogers blows $4.35B to become majority owner of the <drumroll> MLSE..
But now @rogers is forcing people to pay $12.99/month if they don't have a Sportsnet package, just to watch LOCAL games on TV.. Weren't they just boasting about 'lifting 150 NHL Blackout games' last month?

The UCP might make Edmonton pay up to $170M to rip out its own bike lanes.
I've heard reports that the UCP has been asking for costs of full network removals.
City numbers put that at $150-170M
This is the same gov't that just spent $130M on a glorified opinion poll.

I’m not a socialist. But I sure would like democratic socialists and left libertarian anarchists to explain how 29% of NDP supporters, primarily in Vancouver metropolitan area, stayed home and chose not to vote. How did this election become the worst voter turnout in BC history?

i wish the average voter understood they have way more in common social-standing-wise with homeless people than they do with the rich people who own several properties and businesses
bc nobody has ever benefitted from conservative governance except the rich

so embarrassed to be a british columbian after that election
whole lot of ppl who don't understand they are nowhere near rich enough to benefit from privatization or tax cuts and will instead suffer from reduction of services

Thank you Lana for highlighting the huge risks in this approach. Once employers know risk of work stoppage is off the table, real bargaining will stop. Codifying this form of interference as a regular feature of industrial relations jeopardises the fundamental right to bargain.
National President @Lanampayne tells the federal government to pump the brakes on Bill C-39.
Unifor presented to both the Senate and the House of Commons on Oct 26, and shared the union's deep concerns on how the law would seriously curtail workers' rights to strike and bargain collectively.
All of this👇
And on the weekend the Premier goes on TV and talks about creating some fancy new Prov Operational Control run by ACA…
which is what we already had w AHS before the “refocusing” and we’ve desperately needed for the last three yrs…
UCP made our HC org FUBAR
The government's own $2 million review said AHS spends less on management than other provinces.
So the government fired the AHS board.
Fired it again.
Split AHS into four agencies.
Split the Health Minister's job into four.
Yes, I got lost there too. My goodness.
Here's what happened.
In order.
With the quotes.
AHS: FROM THE BEGINNING, Part C

Next up: expensive privatized auto insurance, tax breaks for corporations, privatized health care, nods to bigotry, removal of rights.
Yay!
Bravo BC!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What a great day for beautiful British Columbia, and all of Canada!
The worst government in Canada, and in BC history, has been completely repudiated.
David Eby’s divisive, hard left politics of envy kicked to the curb.
And a principled, serious, renewed Conservative Party given a huge mandate for change!
What a great sequel to Albertans’ rejection of separatism. Now we’ll have these two western powerhouses, plus Saskatchewan, aligned to build Canada into a global energy and resource super power! 🇨🇦💪🏼

I believe the stench of interference in the BC election has a musky taint.
It would be odd if Musk wasn’t interfering in Canadian elections. His interference is being reported everywhere there’s an election.
Canada’s electorate are not the exception.
I'd imagine (actually I have no doubt) there's a lot of Musk-linked dark money networks affecting outcomes here too.
