Tossed an alley oop for Speedy Claxton yesterday, asking him about Hofstra's ability to always find talented guards. Naturally, he dropped a @GuardUni reference and called himself The Guardfather.

From my first NCAA Tournament in 1997 to my last in 2026. I could never have imagined back then what the years in between would mean to me. What an incredible journey. On to the next chapter… (sorry, this is a long thread)

Really good get for @HofstraMBB. Got the opportunity to watch @El1jah_Gelin last summer with @ccfalcon. Great positional size and length for his skillset. Per 40 Stats this past season 8.6 3PAs @ 40.5% 7.2 FTAs @ 70.3% 7.4 REB Good ball handler at 6’6” makes him an effective scorer/playmaker in Transition & Ball Screens. Will have 4 to play with impending 5 in 5 ruling.

Every year we have all CAA caliber guards and just need front court depth Seems like Speedy really found some size this year and I’m thrilled to see how that goes
Guard U (@GuardUni) profile pictureGuard U@GuardUniMay 5
Hofstra was 10th in CAA in Avg. Height last year at 77.4" and 4th in Eff. Height (C/PF only) at +0.8" taller than average. Clearly not everything, given they won despite this. However, very interested to see how it will go to have a much more physically imposing Pride team.
