Hamas is demanding approximately 10,000 Israeli shekels ($3,220) from private merchants for every truck carrying commercial goods into Gaza.
Hamas also requires merchants to conduct approximately 30% of their sales in cash to gain greater control over commercial revenues.
Israeli authorities also revealed that Hamas security personnel arrested and imprisoned a merchant's son after his father refused to pay the demanded fees.

FN Intel: An analysis on the recent activities of CENTCOM CDR ADM Brad Cooper, and wider implications for the U.S.-Iran War:
Cooper flew out of MacDill on a C-17 on the 22nd, landing at Al Bateen, UAE. He left on the 26th and went to Washington, not back to MacDill. The trip wasn't public until the 25th when CENTCOM released photos of him in a CH-47 over the Strait of Hormuz with Maj. Gen. Brandon Tegtmeier, the 82nd Airborne Division commander. Officially, it was about mine clearance and shipping, but another way to see it as a last look at the AOR to make sure CENTCOM can execute if ordered.
Today, the WSJ reported that Cooper briefed Trump in person at the White House on Iran’s military options, along with @secwar Hegseth & Chairmain of the Joint Chiefs Caine.
That's rare. He did it on 26 Feb, and the war started two days later. To be fair, he also briefed this group in April, but that didn't lead to strikes.
Other indicators of a continuation of hostilities in CENTCOM:
- Sen. Chris Murphy says some senators have been briefed on the war plan and called it "insane." No details, but it confirms a plan exists and has gone to Congress.
- Gulf states have reportedly been told to prepare for a short, intense campaign after the midterms.
- The US has ordered non-essential staff out of Saudi Arabia and cut staffing in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, and the UAE. Troop numbers at some bases have reportedly been quietly reduced.
- More AD is moving into CENTCOM, including a Patriot battery to Ovda, Israel.
-On 27 Oct, the FCDO updated its advice for 13 countries. It now says the region is "deeply unpredictable" (previously just "unpredictable") and that "the risk of sudden escalation is high." It also notes Iran has said it intends to target businesses and organisations linked to the US and Israel.
The U.S. is now at a 3rd fork in the road, and POTUS either has to, or already has decided which direction to take.

🚨 CONTAINER SHIP FROM ISRAEL SUNK BY EXPLOSIVE DRONES IN BLACK SEA
The Liberian-flagged Contship Jet, carrying 421 containers from Haifa to Romania, sank after being struck by three explosive sea drones approximately 21 nautical miles off Bulgaria’s coast Wednesday.
All 18 crew members—14 Filipinos and 4 Ukrainians—were rescued unharmed.
According to maritime intelligence firm Windward, 93 commercial vessel attacks were verified between January and August 2026: 53 attributed to Ukraine and 40 to Russia.
Responsibility for the Contship Jet attack remains unconfirmed.

A new report reveals that 80% of the 3.7 million new UK payroll jobs recorded between July 2014 and December 2025 were held by foreign nationals, while just 20% went to British citizens.
According to the analysis of the data, of the 3.7 million increase:
- 2.5 million were non-EU nationals.
- 408,000 were EU nationals.
- 734,000 were British nationals.
The report also found that British nationals on payrolls declined in nine of the UK's 12 regions since 2020, including Scotland and the West Midlands.
Meanwhile, the number of migrant workers increased by 2.1 million after 2020, while the number of people receiving out-of-work benefits rose by 2.3 million.
The government responded that British nationals still constitute the overwhelming majority of the workforce, despite the fact that British people are the native population of the country.

🚨 IRAN REPORTEDLY REJECTS NUCLEAR CONCESSIONS IN FIVE-DAY MEDIATION PLAN
Mediators have proposed a five-day sequence of reciprocal commitments: Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the U.S. would lift its naval blockade, according to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, as cited by N12’s Sapir Lipkin.
The proposal also calls for Iranian nuclear concessions, including authorization for inspections at nuclear facilities during that period.
Sources cited by the newspaper say Tehran accepted the framework in principle but rejected the nuclear requirements, insisting nuclear negotiations begin only after the war ends, the blockade is lifted and Hormuz reopens.
