I refused to give my househelp food from the pot yesterday, and my husband called me wicked. Before you judge me, let me explain. I cook enough food for my family every day. My househelp has her own food allowance, and I give her money to buy whatever she wants. But recently, she started eating from the pot before everyone else, sometimes leaving very little for the children. I warned her twice. Yesterday, I caught her serving herself the food I had prepared for dinner while the children were still at school. I asked her to stop and wait until everyone had eaten. My husband said I was treating her like a slave and that she should be free to eat whenever she's hungry. I told him I had no problem with her eating. My problem was eating food prepared for everyone without considering the others. He said I was making a big deal out of nothing.

A barrister is suing MTN, alleging that his elderly, uneducated mother was unknowingly enrolled in several paid services after repeatedly pressing “OK” on pop-up messages simply to make them disappear. She couldn't read or understand the prompts. He alleges that MTN exploited her illiteracy, resulting in airtime deductions without her informed consent. He is seeking ₦10 million in damages. Pressing “OK” is not informed consent. I hope he wins. Our vulnerable elderly deserve protection, not exploitation.

Home Timeline verified impressions can be difficult and discouraging when they start dropping, but I want to remind you that giving up is far worse than seeing your numbers decline. Keep pushing, keep showing up, and keep creating. Learn from others, adjust your strategies, and keep changing your approach until you succeed. Don't give up. Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.

Never sacrifice your dignity to keep a relationship. Love should never make you lose your self-respect. If you have to keep lowering your standards, hiding your feelings, and accepting things that hurt you just to keep someone in your life, something is wrong. It often starts with small things. You laugh at jokes that hurt you just to avoid an argument. You ignore disrespect because you don't want to lose the relationship. You keep adjusting your boundaries to make the other person comfortable. Over time, you begin to accept things you would normally advise someone else not to tolerate. But healthy love should not require you to lose yourself. You should be able to express your feelings, set boundaries, disagree, and still be treated with respect. Self-respect does not mean you cannot compromise. Every healthy relationship requires compromise. But compromise should never mean accepting disrespect, abuse, or constantly sacrificing your happiness to keep someone else comfortable. Ask yourself: - Can I express myself freely in this relationship? - Are my boundaries respected? - Can we disagree without disrespecting each other? - Am I becoming a better version of myself, or am I slowly losing myself? Never become so afraid of losing someone that you forget the value of keeping yourself. Love someone, but don't abandon yourself in the process.

Make God part of your relationship Couples who survive difficult seasons are not necessarily those who never argue or have problems. They are often the ones who make God the centre of their relationship. Making God part of your marriage doesn't mean you will never disagree or face challenges. It means you both learn to depend on Him and follow His teachings in your daily lives. It means praying together, studying the Bible, forgiving each other, being honest, showing patience, and treating each other with love and respect. When challenges come, you are not left to depend on your own strength alone. You have God to turn to and His Word to guide your decisions. Your spouse is not expected to meet all your needs or make you happy all the time. Both of you need God to help you build a healthy marriage. Putting God at the centre does not guarantee a trouble free marriage, but it gives you a strong foundation to face life's challenges together. A marriage built with God at the centre has a foundation stronger than feelings alone.

Builder to builder. • Guard the first hour. It sets the speed for the whole day. • Finish before you polish. Done and imperfect teaches you more than perfect in a drawer. • Sell the problem you solved for yourself. That's where your proof lives. • Keep your body in the plan. A tired builder makes expensive decisions. • Judge the week, not the day. One bad day is noise.

Mrs. Okafor got married in 2003 in Enugu. She and her husband, Mr. Okafor, were very close. They used to gist till 1am. They used to go out every Friday. Then the children came. Three of them. Mrs. Okafor changed everything. Her husband would come home from work and say, "Honey, how are you?" She would say, "Don't disturb me, I am feeding the baby." He would say, "Let's go out this weekend." She would say, "We can't. The children have lesson. The children need this. The children need that." Every money went to the children. Every decision was about the children. Every night, she slept in the children's room because the children wanted her there. Her husband slept alone for 10 years. Mr. Okafor complained once. He said, "You have forgotten me." Mrs. Okafor shouted, "Are you competing with your own children? A good mother puts her children first! My children are my life!" He went quiet and stopped complaining. The children grew up. The first one got admission to university in UK in 2021. The second one got married in 2023 and moved to Canada. The last one left for Lagos in 2024 to start work. The house became empty. Mrs. Okafor came back to the sitting room one night and looked at her husband. She did not know him again. They had nothing to talk about. They had no jokes. They had no friendship. She had spent 20 years building her children, and 0 years building her marriage. Last month, she told her sister, "My children have left. My husband is a stranger. I am lonely in my own house." Her sister told her, "You raised your children to leave. But you forgot to keep the man that was supposed to stay."
