🌟Proud to have participated to the 9th GIMPHA conference this week-end in Tbilissi, Georgia 🇬🇪! Following the several missions that we performed with @CHUdeLyon in Armenia 🇦🇲 to improve the management and care of trauma patients, we are pleased to report here our multidisciplinary experience. #GIMPHA is the "Georgian International Medical and Public Health Association" that promotes the knowledge and the sharing in the field of Medicine in Georgia 🇬🇪. We were connected with a great pleasure with Sylvain Diamantis and Eka Chakvetadze @ekaterinachakv1, our infectiologist colleagues from the "Groupe Hospitalier Sud Ile-de-France" @CHMelun located in Melun, France 🇫🇷 who have developed since many years in Georgia 🇬🇪 a collaborative project about epidemiology in antimicrobial resistance and use of antibiotics funded by the "Direction générale de l'offre de soins (DGOS)" and supported by the French Embassy in Georgia. I presented the French multidisciplinary organization we set-up in referral centers #CRIOAc for the management of complex bone and joint infections in France 🇫🇷, the European 🇪🇺 standard of care for the management of bone and joint infections, based on @EBJIS_ ("European Bone & Joint Infection Society") philosophy and guidelines, and the innovations in the field such as the use of antibiotics-loaded bone substitutes and also phage therapy that we set-up in surgical patients at @CHUdeLyon thanks to the @FondationHCL. My colleague Tiphaine Roussel-Gaillard reported on the evidence-based European standard rules for microbial diagnosis, implemented and routinely used in @CHUdeLyon hospital system. My friend Mikhail Dziadzko gave a primer on an anesthesiologist-led multidisciplinary approach, illustrating the contemporary concept of perioperative medicine, and addressing functional capacity enhancement, empowerment, and chronic pain management in patients with bone and joint infection. It was a great moment to connect also our Armenian colleagues who were invited to connect with Georgian orthopedic surgeons and infectiologists 🇦🇲🤝🇬🇪!
