In December 1814, British and American diplomats signed the Treaty of Ghent and shook hands.
There was no one at the table to represent the Indigenous nations.
They lost more from that treaty than anyone in the room. 👇

Yes, it should be abolished and all Canadians should be treated equally.
Abolish the Indian Act. We have nothing to lose but our chains.
We will, of course, need new legislation that is an interface between the Federal government and First Nations. And this MUST be created alongside Chiefs and First Nation governments every step of the way. But it is time to move past the era of this outdated, racist, and patriarchal legislation.
I support Prime Minister Carney’s work to position Canada as a global leader in human rights and democracy. The Indian Act is inconsistent with achieving that vision.
Our laws at home should reflect the values we champion around the world.
It’s time for a relationship with First Nations people that reflects who we are as Canadians today, recognizes nationhood, and lives up to the true nature of reconciliation.
Blocked me. lol.

Bananas!
There's always at least one loon in the mix.
You lefties had over a decade and all the did was make Canadians poorer.
Time to shut up and get out of the way.

Alignment between Ottawa's energy agenda and Victoria on pipelines could unlock real investment for BC. Cooperation, not conflict, is what moves projects forward.
Could we finally be looking at a governemnt in Canada that cares about the economic welfare of citizens?

I am pleased with the results but am always aware that politicians will almost always let you down.

British Columbia just elected a Conservative government, and the people now have hope. A small step for BC, a giant leap for North Americans. Let's keep it going!
An insightful way of looking at it.

A bunch of atheists are upset about the spirits of these 3,000-year-old dead people
