If the legal profession wants to lead in the Age of AI, then we need to think beyond and bigger than how AI can/will help us do work the way we now work.
Now, more than ever, we need the lawyer brain to exhibit curiosity, creativity, and an experimental mindset.
"Instead of prohibiting generative AI tools from our classrooms, we should empower students to harness them. The rationale is simple: Generative AI will disrupt many aspects of work and life, and students need to prepare for that."

Y'all, @ghadfield just made this very point at CodeX. We're making the tools and putting them in the hands of lawyers and their corporate clients.
But not people. Who otherwise get no help from lawyers.

al coda - @factor_law (and others) has started to work together with outside counsel as well. The "megamatter" going to law firm vs ALSP is a false binary; we have a core belief that collaboration with firms on transactional work is a mostly untapped, exciting model.

In brief, it's not "#ALSP vs #BigLaw"

Legal document management systems existing on the law firm side rather than the business side is an artifact of the pre-cloud era. DMS's will ultimately be owned by businesses, the same way as Quickbooks is owned by a business, and lawyers will be invited in to collaborate.
