These are the people whom Starmer, Rayner, Sarwar, Sturgeon, Swinney, Yousaf and other virtue signallers want to reward by recognising their murderous kind of terrorist state.
👇🏻 should all come as news to the commons. I hate how politics has moved into early announcements and leaks. It undermines the importance of govt and particularly disrespectful to opposition colleagues.
🚨 NEW: John Healey is set to announce the following in his Budget later
- The gas standing charge will be scrapped to save £27 a year on a typical bill
- Green levies on energy bills will be scraped "for good"
- NHS prescription charges will be frozen at £9.90 for another year
- Poorer households on benefits will receive extra help with energy bills before January's sharp rises
- The VAT cut on electricity bills, which was due to expire in April, will be extended (though it's not clear if this will be announced in the Budget or separately)
- The Government will remove the link between gas and electricity prices, which currently inflates household bills, "in the long term"
- Banks will face higher taxes, with the surcharge on their profits potentially rising from 3% to 8%, making it the Budget’s biggest revenue raiser
- HMRC will be given powers to seize money from the bank accounts of people who fail to pay their tax
- The freeze on rail fares will reportedly not be extended beyond April
- Online retailers like Amazon, eBay and Temu will be made responsible for collecting unpaid VAT from sellers to fund a cut in business rates for high street shops
- The thresholds for income tax will be frozen again so another half a million people may be dragged into the higher rate
- January's planned increase in fuel duty will be cancelled
- Pensioners relying solely on the state pension will see their tax-free allowance rise to £13,036, in line with the pension increase, so they don't pay income tax
- Billions in long-term borrowing to invest in defence firms and raise the share of GDP spent on defence (without breaking fiscal rules, as the investments are expected to generate returns)
- The upcoming "Your First Home" scheme will be made more generous to provide greater support for middle-income earners
- The Budget will also assume the Rosebank oil field is approved, which will generate "significant tax revenues"
How so??

This is a remarkable story.
The SNP are spending £21.8 million to pay Scottish civil servants who have no permanent role, which could fund 584 junior doctors on their current starting salary of £37,316 a year in Scotland.

Fantastic. But announcements are supposed to be made in Parliament to MPs, elected to represent voting constituents.
Every one of us - including Chancellors and Prime Ministers - accountable to every citizen we represent, not one or two famous people and influencers granted special access.
I think you should be embarrassed to stand up and report this budget as if it’s anything other than a tweak around the edges affair. We need real change and real hope.

“I’m sorry, there are absolutely no fiscal requirements for joining the EU. What you are talking about is the Exchange Rate Mechanism.”
Jaw-dropping ignorance from Màiri McAllan.

Just love how every hostile nation sees these depressing stats along with all the very concerned British citizens who are constantly being told by this Government to prepare for war.

This young criminal stabbed a girl 10 times after she rejected him.
The judge called him a “bright lad” and said custody was “the last place” for him.
So he received a 12-month referral order.
No. This violent thug belongs behind bars.

I'm genuinely lost with this RAF Fairford case.
Mohmed Abdulkarim, pictured here in a wheelchair, allegedly loaded three white vans with metal drums containing petrol, water butts and smart dashcams.
A month ago, I said every new development left me more confused than the last.
But this really is the icing on the cake.
Every time I think this case can't get any more bizarre, another detail emerges.

NEW: Staggering details emerging from Westminster Mags on the RAF Fairford plot today.
One of the five men arrested near the US military base called the police after a "handler" warned there was a bomb in the van, a court heard.
Mohmed Abdulkarim, 24, and Nouman Essghir, 24, both appeared in court on Tuesday charged under the National Security Act 2023.
Abdulkarim, of London, is accused of assisting a foreign intelligence service, by acting as an “intermediary” for the handler Ali.
While Essghir, also of London, has been charged with entering a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the UK, relating to an alleged “reconnaissance” mission on August 22, around a month before the Fairford incident.
The group were ordered to drive the van loaded with petrol to RAF Fairford by a handler known as ‘Ali’ who police believe was working on behalf of Iran.
No explosives, or improvised explosives were found in the vans, the court heard.
Police did find a metal oil drum in each, two of which had petrol in, along with hard plastic water butts and internet-enabled dashcams.
Prosecuting, Louise Gray, said: “Shortly thereafter the message was received that there was a bomb in the vehicles and one of them called the police.”
Abdulkarim is alleged to have aided the organiser, Ali, who is believed to be abroad and to be acting in the interests of the Iranian state.
Ali is also potentially connected to an incident at the Israeli embassy earlier this year, where propaganda videos were posted online suggesting it had been attacked with a chemical weapon by a drone, the court heard.
Prosecutors allege that Abdulkarim aided Ali, buying equipment for the mission and receiving multiple payments from him totalling around £70,000.
Before the men, allegedly enlisted by Abdulkarim, travelled to RAF Fairford, £300 worth of petrol was filled into the drums in the back of the vans.

How any Chancellor can look at the state of the economy, the job losses, struggling businesses and sectors like Hospitality, and think, let’s increase their wage bills AGAIN… is totally beyond me.
This is a deliberate demolition of small businesses.
RIP THE ECONOMY 🪦

John Healey will announce plans to increase the minimum wage by nearly 4 per cent but slow the rise for young people after warnings that they are being priced out of jobs
The Times has been told that the national living wage, which applies to those aged 21 and over, is expected to rise from £12.71 to around £13.20 — an increase of 3.9 per cent
However, Healey has decided not to repeat the big rises of the past two budgets in the national minimum wage, which applies to those aged 18 to 21
It will rise broadly in line with the rate for older workers - from £10.85 to around £11.27, an increase of 3.9 per cent
It effectively spells the end of Labour’s manifesto pledge to bring the “discriminatory” minimum wage for young people into line with the living wage for older workers in this parliament
The minimum wage increased by 26 per cent between 2025 and 2026, leading to stark warnings from employers that it risked impeding efforts to get 1 million “Neets” - young people not in education, employment or training - into work.
Healey alluded to the approach in an interview with The Times last week, in which he spoke of the importance of the “trade-off between the level of the minimum wage and the employment rate”

😂 Nick Ferrari bursts out laughing as Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds is forced to sell the latest government gimmick live on @LBC
Reynolds looked thoroughly embarrassed as he tried to sell the plan to scrap import tariffs on a list of “everyday essentials”.
When Ferrari asked him which products were included and what the actual savings would be, Reynolds immediately started dampening expectations, sheepishly admitting these were “not huge reductions” before reeling off the list: baked beans, chocolate, gherkins…
That’s as far as he got. Ferrari could not contain himself and burst out laughing. 😭
Nick then pointed out that the Conservatives have called the projected saving of £21 per year “derisory”.
You could see Reynolds was mortified reading it out. Imagine the brief he opened this morning and realised he had to go on air and sell this to the public. 😬
What a farce. Even on the government’s own figures, this works out at roughly 40p a week for the average household. Forty pence a week. You lucky people.
Another pointless gimmick that will have zero material impact on people’s lives.

🤨 WATCH as Richard Madeley EXPOSES Andy Burnham’s real Brexit plans live on @GMB
Andy Burnham completely gave the game away on Labour’s quiet scheme to drag Britain back into the EU while being grilled by Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid.
Susanna hit him with the betrayal of his own voters. Sixty-five per cent of his constituents voted Leave and he had promised he would not reopen the entire Brexit argument.
His answer was slippery: “I said we wouldn’t rerun the referendum and that’s not what I’m doing.”
The wording is deliberate. He only ruled out rerunning the referendum. He left the door wide open on rejoining.
Then Madeley confronted him head-on and Burnham could barely keep a straight face.
Madeley: “You’re flying kites, aren’t you, Prime Minister? Watching and listening to what you were saying over the weekend, it was a classic case of somebody testing the water. You’re testing the public mood. You’re checking to see, and I’m sure you’re looking very closely at, the reaction that you’ve had from the public and from the media this morning and over the weekend.”
Watch Burnham’s face as Madeley presses further. In that exact moment. The smile almost breaks through. He knows Madeley has nailed him: “You’re looking to see if actually this is on. If actually it’s on, to suggest maybe in the next manifesto that we should rejoin the EU?”
Burnham ducked and weaved, going round the houses to avoid a straight answer. “I was asked a question Richard so I didn’t fly that kite. I was asked and I try to give honest answers.”
Try? He tries to give honest answers? That is a very odd way to put it. Why not just say he gives honest answers?
The grin told the whole story. He would be a terrible poker player.
Labour’s plan is now obvious. Rejoining the EU goes into the next manifesto. No referendum. Over 17 million people cast their votes in an historic decision to leave. Whether you agreed or disagreed, that vote happened and it cannot be casually overturned without another referendum. Anything less is a disgrace.
