Congressional Democrats recently launched an inquiry into whether recipients of Trump's pardons were part of "pay-to-play dynamics."
In response, Nevada Judge Michele Fiore denied "any improper conduct in connection with my pardon" and called the inquiry a "fishing expedition."

ICE has purchased a warehouse in Salt Lake City for $145 million dollars amid rumors that ICE plans on opening a new detention center in the region.
ICE's Salt Lake Field Office oversees Nevada, Montana, and Idaho. There are rumors it plans to expand detention in Nevada.

NEW: Nevada has appointed a new state engineer to oversee water resources and laws in the nation's driest state, three months after the firing of former engineer Adam Sullivan.

The crime bill could have repercussions for Southern Nevada as it proposes to re-establish a speciality court that only deals with crime on the Strip. Despite crime being down, some say it's necessary to address crime. Others say the court is an attempt to criminalize homelessness. Read more: thenevadaindependent.com/art…
Nevada lawmakers are reconsidering Lombardo's staple crime bill. The bill proposes re-establishing a defunct Corridor Court to deal with crimes on the Strip.
It also proposes banning people from the area if charged with crime there.

The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline has imposed an interim suspension with pay against Michele Fiore.
Fiore was pardoned by Trump on wire fraud charges, but the commission said she poses a "substantial threat of serious harm" and additional complaints have been filed.
